Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesStaff was very helpful when we checked in, good restaurant recommendations (Bouillon Charter for cheap, rustic French cooking and is VERY popular, 60 people in line when we came out at 7:30 after eating at 6:15). Overall very clean. BF was enjoyable. Loved the baguettes, cheese selection, coffee/cappachino machine and even could make a soft cooked egg. Very quiet. Finally the Montparnasse Metro was within 50 meters. If you are in Paris for at least 4 days, get the Navigo Pass. It is good for all Metro and the larger RER trains (from airport). We used it ALL the time and connected everywhere quite quickly. .

ItalyI have asked for a high level floor and we were put in the last floor, which was fine if it was not for the sloped roof room very uncomfortable, especially for my husband that is tall. Also the access to it was through a narrow stair and narrow corridor. The cleaning person does A LOT of noise early morning when cleaning next door. The ceiling was not the biggest issue of our stay, but the unprepared staff. We had 2 different reservations because we decided to add an extra day in our stay. I wanted to make sure the 2 reservations would be for the same room, so we didn't have to change rooms. So I sent an email, I called and I have mentioned it in our check in in the first day. We had confirmation by email and in presence that we would not change rooms. However, in a Sunday morning we are waken by the cleaning man knocking on the door (despite the "do not disturb" sign on it) saying we had to leave the room and go to the room next door (it was not even checkout time)... when we answered that we would not leave he started to argue... and yell... 3 minutes later, the reception was calling us saying we had to leave the room... we refused and they gave up, but it was a nightmare to be awakened screaming and fighting. They were unpolite and rude, despite our reason. Is not only a matter of paying, but we took all the necessary measures to avoid this situation that in the end happened, despite their confirmation of keeping us in the same room through email (Paul) and at the check in.
Good size of the room and bathroom. Clean. Good sheets and towels.

United KingdomRoom temperature was good, however the duvet was too hot, not a choice of having it lighter or just the sheets. Air con was central, so could not make the room any cooler apart from opening the window, making it uncomfortable in that sense. The pillows were not comfy. For the room price I’d expect a more elaborate breakfast, but it was overall sufficient.
The mattress was comfortable, room and bathroom decor was just enough and up to date. Plenty of light, nice windows and my double room size was great, no street noise at all. The hotel is well located if you want to stay in that area. Lots of places to eat around. Friendly staff :)

GreeceThe hotel was way beneath my expectations in many ways. To start with, the hotel is overpriced for what it offers, the breakfast has limited options ands the rooms are really mini as well as the breakfast area. Comparing with other hotels in the same area this hotel is below the standards. And I have been in many hotels in the area. Maybe it is because of the season, but again there are no excuses. There was no refrigerator and the everything was so stretched and tiny.
The main asset of the hotel is its position and its friendly staff.

AustraliaParking or drop off pick up area would be useful for people driving, very stressful trying to find parking to unload and load car with luggage. Parking was ok across the road, but had issues with paying for ticket, took me over 20 minutes with help from parking people.
A higher floor would have been nice, we were on level 1 and our room looked into a roof top...be nice to have seen something outside. We weren't in room long. Our room was a little tight.

Great place next to montparnasse to crash between a flight and a train... Really appreciated that the following week they stored our luggage for a few hours so we didn't have to rent lockers in the train station.
