Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere is no lift, though help is on hand to carry your bags up the steep stairs. The duvet was too hot, prefer a couple of sheets, and the pillows ridiculously deep - I had to use a cushion or towel. No drinking water, tissues or hair conditioner in the room. A 7am departure meant no staff on duty for checkout and the ground floor was in darkness. No parking though free street parking is not too difficult to find.
A delightful boutique hotel within walking distance of the station, river, trams and Sainte Catherine shopping precinct. Makes good and pleasantly quirky use of an old building. Excellent friendly (bilingual) staff, great breakfast, nice room and bathroom. The ground floor is a combined lounge, café and wine bar, so atmosphere the day through.

United KingdomSome streets near the hotel are less nice to walk by, specialy if you are alone (but tram is very close).
Very nice building and staff. The bedroom was stylish clean and comfortable. Good food. Nice environment Near a tram, but you can walk to the city easily as well

United KingdomWe stayed in the building next to the actual hotel we had to get through what seemed to be a storage room and some steep stairs but that was all.
The room was lovely and spacious we only stayed for one night but the location was perfect, considering we were very close to the town centre it was quite quiet. Great big bath and comfy bed.

This was a really nice hotel in a great location with very friendly staff. The room was a little small but it was fine for us for 3 nights. Great location pretty much in the centre of historic Bordeaux. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby

United StatesThe bathtub was so large that I kept sliding down, unable to get comfortable. Disappointed there were no wash cloths, but I know it’s not a thing in Europe. It was noisy outside most of the night, bc of the bar patrons. Luckily I had ear plugs. I like a dark room, and though there were wooden window covers, the street lights streamed in on the sides. Luckily I had eye covers. If you can’t do stairs, it’s one story up, beware.
The breakfast was adequate. I liked when they had soft boiled eggs. The coffee was fine. The bed was comfy. I was pleased there was a fridge. Would hv liked a hot plate or microwave. The view of the st michel church was nice. Liked the neighborhood, and the wine bar across the way.

United KingdomOur room was not in the main building, it was in the building just next door but the entrance was through a night bar which was a bit weird. Our room was loceted on 2 floor, the bathroom was old comparing the rest of the room.
The hotel is located in Bordeaux city centre. Rooms are big, bed is comfortable, very clean. Neely renovated.

Comfy bed … huge shower … view over cathedral and square … French doors to Juliet balcony … bar perfect for a relaxed night cap and early morning coffee Al fresco … staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. nothing to say negative I can think of !

HungaryBathroom-toilet-bedroom all together, okey for 1 person but if u travel with someone, you might want to avoid that. A coffeemachine would be nice to have in the room.

United KingdomThe stairs. I was on the third floor with no lift and the stone stairs were quite steep. It would be helpful if the website specified this so you could ask for a room on the lower floors
Breakfast was good and good value for money. The room was clean and well maintained. It was also quiet considering it was also a bar

IrelandRoom was tiny and very basic with no view, even though it stated on website it had a patio view. It is the smallest room on the website and was the only one available when we were booking. Only suitable in our opinion for one person. The privacy levels in the bathroom are Zero, as the door dividing the bedroom from the toilet area is plain glass! Hard to understand why plain glass was used when a frosted type glass was used for the shower area. The doors leading into the bathroom did not close properly. Lighting in the bathroom is very poor. There is only one small mirror in the bathroom and no mirror or dressing table in the bedroom. Breakfast is €15.00 per person and is not good value for money compared with local cafes. All food is out in the open i.e. no covers on anything and breads, pastries etc were covered in fruit flies.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The beds were very comfortable and the area very quiet during the night. Great air conditioning which was very welcome. Lovely bar area and great range of cocktails etc. Some lovely little wine bars around the hotel which are worth a vist.

Location was good , easy to find and authentic French hotel. Staff were really helpful and attentive. Parking just a few minutes away in underground. Room overlooked the basilica and was lovely , very comfortable.

FranceThe Wi-Fi didn't work properly & the phone reception 4 & 5 g virtually non existant because of the thick stone walls. If this is essential for you,you should check with hotel. If you are a couple & like a WC with a door it may not be for you. You need to check when booking.
The staff were really excellent. Young team. Really charming & smiling without exception. Very clean. Fabulous beds like sleeping on a cloud. Great music in the public area. Excellent location I would stay again in a heartbeat.

United KingdomSadly there was no safe in the room
Amazing to have breakfast on the steps of Basilique Saint-Michel. Super friendly and helpful staff.. we were surprised that there was no lift for our bags, one of the staff kindly brought them up the three flights of narrow stone stairs! We had a skylight (with electric blackout blinds) in the room which was a bonus as the only window to the courtyard couldn’t be opened.
