Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe breakfasts although nicely served were not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. The pastries were billed as "cooked on the premises" but clearly by a commie-chef. The bread rolls were hard and the "croissants" were stodgy and were nothing like the beautiful, light, flaky croissants we are used to. The Michelin starred restaurant also suffered from that frequent Michelin star failing of style over substance. The only choice was between a 4 or 6 course "tasting menu" dictated by the chef. It was quite nice, but for the price, I would have preferred to have some choice of dishes.
Beautiful building, lovely grounds and swimming pool, welcoming and attentive staff. The room was large, clean and comfortable.

United StatesNothing! We loved everything!
Adored absolutely everything about this wonderful hotel. It is filled with lovely historic details and updated with contemporary aesthetic. There is a beautiful garden with charming seating areas tucked in amongst the trees. The pool area is spacious, peaceful and well appointed. All staff were gracious and helpful. The breakfast is fresh, delicious and generous. A peaceful oasis, yet only 5 minutes drive to Pezenas. Completely exceeded our expectations!

The staff arranged dining at the adjoining restaurant as well as at a lovely spot in the nearby town of Pezenas. We did a day trip to Carcassonne.

GermanyThe Hotel restaurant is highly exclusive and you HAVE TO reserve a table in advance. Not really a bad thing - just make sure to book a table beforehand if you wanna dine there. And the ONLY thing that we can think of that was negative was the shower had a sewery smell - we were in Room 9
This cozy little Hotel is an absolut treasure! The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They have a Whirlpool you can use whenever you like, a hammam from 4pm-8pm. and an outdoor pool as the Spatreatment. Dogs are more than welcome and really nicely treated. The Breakfast is to die for and TOTALLY worth the price of 13€ per person!!!

United KingdomUnfortunately the air conditioning wasn't working so our room was far too hot - they did look at it and try to rectify the matter but it still wasn't working when we got back to our room so we had to leave the windows open which resulted in us getting mosquito bites. The car park is at the back of the hotel so you have to drag your luggage round the building and then up flights of stone steps to get to your room - help was eventually offered but we'd more or less got to our room at that point? We had dinner in the restaurant and again no air conditioning which made the room unbearably hot. The seats were also rather uncomfortable and sitting in them for nearly 3 hours was a trial as neither of us could relax There was an unfortunate incident at dinner with one of us being served seafood when we had clearly indicated on booking (6 months earlier) and also on our arrival at the restaurant that we are both allergic to seafood. One of the serving staff took it upon himself to decide that one of us could eat shrimp? This was not the case and they also did not take into account that the sauce on the dish was made using seafood. Fortunately having eaten only the monk fish and after taking anti histamine there were no lasting drastic effects but this could have been life threatening. Everyone except the staff member involved were extremely concerned and apologetic (including chef) and a free glass of wine was given although we did decline this as we felt they were missing the point Breakfast had to be ordered the evening before and the bread and bakery items were a little underwhelming We stayed here as a treat but feel that it misses the mark on several aspects and therefore it was over priced for what you get
Large size room with hospitality tray and fresh cake and little bag of locally made sweets Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had everything you need and everywhere was clean enough Chef is amazing and the food he serves is a treat not to be missed however be aware you are served the dishes he prepares ie there is no traditional menu you simply choose the number of courses you want to eat - so if you have any allergies or dislikes be sure to inform them on booking your table and reinforce it to serving staff when you get there. Loved that on the second entree he comes to the table and puts the dish together for you explaining each of the ingredients and where they are grown etc.
