Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSwimming pool could do with a clean. Glasses and cups in kitchen too small. Living room area a bit cramped.
Comfortable cabins, quite private, lots of greenery. Good swimming pool, restaurant, bike hire. Near some lovely beaches.

United KingdomOur chalet was cramped, bedrooms too small and wifi was intermittent.
Fabulous location, facilities well designed for families and everything you could possibly need was well provided, each unit was very nicely separated with private sandy gardens.

United KingdomThe on site restaurant les demoiselles was poor. Only one choice for vegetarians which was a poorly executed plate of cous cous.. Waiter said we were unable to have pizza in the restaurant. Ordered takeaway pizza the following night and on collection we saw a table of children eating pizza!
The accommodation and reception staff were excellent.

United KingdomThe restaurant - overpriced and not great food. We ordered takeaway pizza another night too and the veg one was essentially so raw veg chucked onto an undercooked margarita - the veg was still hard and crunchy.
Lovely stay, the cabins are super clean and nicely done. Set in beautiful surroundings. We used the indoor pool when it was raining which was good fun for the kids, a little on the cool side. We had a lovely stay and will likely return!

United KingdomNo online shop/ bakery to get bits. Bar was only open in evening, would be nice to have an all day cafe beyond the restaurant. Restaurant kids food was not great, so we ate out more than in.
Safe, clean and easy going. Location is great, close to the beach and very tranquil. Breakfast package on the first morning is a nice touch.

United KingdomCups and glasses very small. Washing up amenities and toiletries too small for a week It would be good to have a small shop on site to get basics. It would also be good to have pizzas available on the kids menu which would encourage us to go to the restaurant more!
The outside space was great for the children to play in. Well equipped kitchen and decent storage. Lovely decking for meals and relaxing. Good facilities and it was lovely having an indoor and outdoor pool. The evening activities were also a nice touch.

United Kingdomfor the cost of the accommodation the basic huts feel too dated inside and need a little decoration. it would also be great for the huts to come with beds made up instead of having to make those yourselves.
gorgeous site which has been perfectly landscaped so that each hut feels private. The facilities feel high end for a family site. Great restaurant on site, good bike hire and lots of activities for children. location in a stunning part of Ile De Re with beautiful beaches, woods and pretty little town with a great market. We were upgraded to a premium 2 bedroom hut which was perfect for us to stay with our newborn baby, we were able to fit a travel cot next to our bed (which we couldn’t do in the basic hut).

United KingdomLoved everything
It was our first holiday as a family with our 6 month daughter. We have stayed on Ile de re before but not on the west of the island. It’s such a beautiful spot with amazing planting making you feel really secluded in your Chalet. The pool was great heated both inside and out and the site facilities and restaurant were lovely. A short walk to a couple of beaches and the village of les portes has great restaurants, amenities and market. Highly recommend hiring a bike to open up the rest of the island. I would definitely pay more for the electric upgrade as it will make your life a lot easier especially if it’s windy.

IrelandCabin was smaller than I expected. Could have done with more supplies - only one roll of toilet paper was supplied for the week, also would have been nice to have more dishwasher tablets, no dustpan supplied only a brush. Atmosphere was a little limp on the site - although there were lots of people staying, there wasn't really a buzzy feel in the bar or restaurant.
Very pretty cabins with nice private terrace and outdoor space, very close to beaches, great bikes can be rented on site. Really great base for cycling around the north of the island and through the salt marshes. Outdoor bar and restaurant also on site. Supermarket and village of Les Portes en Re a short cycle away. Les Portes en Re is a lovely little village with a daily market in the summer and lots of little shops and restaurants.
