Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UkraineThe walls are so tiny we actually checked whether people that were dining something all night and early in the morning weren’t in our room:) I woke up because someone sneezed :) so if you want to sleep calmly, maybe it is better to use earplugs or AirPods :) also, the hotel has high old spiral staircase and no elevator, and the rooms are mostly situated upstairs, so you need to climb to 3,4,5,6 floor. This might also be an obstacle for some people.
This was our second stay at the hotel. We stayed for one night before the flight back home. The room we got this time was much more spacious: we had enough space to put our luggage, and ate sitting at the table without problems. In previous room, we had a little space and even our bathroom door wasn’t opening fully because there were no space. The rooms are for sure old and tired, but our room was clean and for this price other is more than ok. The reception works 24/7 and that is very useful as we have arrived late.

FranceThe rooms don't look as in the photos. I was very disappointed. Definitely not recommended if you want to rest and have a good sleep, but more an option for a low budget.
It has a great location, close to the metro and next to a coffee. The staff was very kind, plus they have 24h service check in.

IndiaThe walls can be difficult to make again thicker to make them less sensitive to sound, but the doors, and windows can be made soundproof. The wooden stairs are really old, and a bit dangerous now. it can be maintained well with bright colours, otherwise, one can easily slip through the stairs. In terms of charges per night, I think it is high because of the area where it is situated but not meeting the quality of the rooms.
Location: Very nice location, near to the " Sacred Cœur ". Easily accessible by metro. Room: Very old style, which is good but not soundproof. So, for those who are sensitive to noise, it is not a choice at all. We could hear the vehicles from the street all night even though we were on the 3rd floor. Anyone walks through the stairs, and corridor, we can hear the steps. Service: People working there are nice, and very patient to listen to you.

IrelandNo lift (but I know it's a common Parisian thing), poor structure (rooms were really warm for summer) and the shower was kinda claustrophobic.
Although there was a really poor structure, the place looked clean. We stayed one night with a couple of friends and the rooms were okay, not comfortable, but fair. It was really close to the metro.

United KingdomAir com and hair dryer not working but was no bother to us. As others have said the walls are thin and could hear other people, but again did not bother us greatly.
Lovely friendly staff, good sized room, microwave, fridge, two double beds, clean bathroom with complimentary toiletries which was not expected in a hostel.

Finland- No elevator. It would be alright if not my habit to walk as much as possible in the trips. So imagine you've done 30000 steps a day and then you have to rise up to the 5 or 6 floor by foot, and the stairs are somewhat high. Not nice. - The room was alright, but it was nothing like a picture. What's so difficult in being honest? I don't mind that the walls are obviously painted long ago, but could there be an actual photo? - I don't mean to accuse anyone, but one day I got home and found my serum bottle empty (there used to be more then a half). It was a cheap one so I wasn't upset about the thing itself but... tf has happened?
- Nice and friendly staff. Thank you so much, especially these ladies who served breakfast. - Beautiful window-like doors to that little balcony in the room - The hotel was all clean and cozy. - Nice restaurants and merto station nearby

United StatesIt was farther away from sites than expected. The bathroom is split into a shower ( small)/ sink room and a toilet room. It had 4 beds for a family room, but an okay place to stay for cheap price, and we only stayed 1 night. There was only one key and it was at the front desk and we weren't able to have our own room key.
It is an affordable place to stay and we only stayed one night

AustraliaIt's a basic hostel, with very basic rooms. They are clean, but contain beds and that's it. Fine for a cheap night's accommodation, but find somewhere else if you want to hang out in your accommodation at all.
Great location in a lively, pretty and not overly touristy bit of town just north of Sacre Coeur. Perfect for what we needed (a one night stay between arriving at Gare du Nord in the evening and heading to the airport the next day).

United KingdomIf you are happy to accept hostel accommodation for what it is then it’s fine. Comfortable beds, basic but clean. Showers ok. We had a family room which was 2 rooms one with bunks and one with twins. Bunk room had only a basin in with toilet and shower in the other room. A lot of stairs to the third floor.
Great location near to lots of places to eat and drink and short walk to Sacre cour.
