Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceI had an unfortunate experience during my stay at your hotel from June 17 to June 19. Upon checking out, I accidentally left my rare Penhaligon Babylon perfume, which I had recently purchased. I called on June 20 to inquire if it had been found and was told it would be checked. When I called again on June 21, I was informed that nothing was found in room 25, even though I had stayed in room 26. I requested another search and left my contact number. No one called me back. I followed up myself the next week, asking what could be done as I clearly remembered leaving the perfume in the bathroom. I asked what gesture the hotel could make to address this situation. I have left items in other hotels before and they were always returned to me. However, I was told that I was being aggressive and that it seemed I was trying to extort benefits from hotels. Additionally, this perfume has a very distinctive scent, making it easy to identify who might have taken it. I understand and take responsibility for leaving my item behind. However, I still expect a humane response and at least a follow-up call from the hotel. I was then asked to send my complaint via email. I find this attitude towards a customer to be very unprofessional and disrespectful. Attention to my concern, including a proactive follow-up call, would have been appreciated, especially since I left my contact number.

SwitzerlandThe number of electric sockets in the room is very limited. One or two more for the people who still want or need to use their laptop in the room or on their privat terrasse would a great ad-on.
Very nice terrasse, perfect for the aperitiv and the breakfast. The dinner was excellent and the wine selection has a very good price/quality ratio. The service was very friendly but still efficient. Overall very happy and to be recommended.

This hotel is a true gem in Mougins, offering an incredibly tranquil setting. The rooms are superbly appointed with exquisite taste, and the restaurant serves great cuisine. The staff are incredibly welcoming and pleasant. Having stayed at other hotels in Mougins and in the area, I can confidently say this is the best. Highly recommended for a peaceful and luxurious retreat!

It had been some 30 years since I stayed at Le Manoir. It was better than I remembered and upgraded. The owners, manager and staff are wonderful. It's as if you are staying at a friend's home in a suburban forest. It seems far from the city but is only 15 minutes from Cannes and the Med. We will be returning early next year.

BelgiumThe room was very small & outdated, with a small window giving on a roof. We could not leave the window open, as there was a constant noise ( from the air conditioning maybe? ) right outside the window. The breakfast was the exact same every day, and did not include anything warm ( only bread, ham/cheese/jam, yogurt & fruit). We would have enjoyed some variety. The swimming pool was beautiful but it wasn’t very ‘quiet’… the hotel is quite busy with conferences /business meetings, yoga or gym sessions, or even a party ( including the whole set up for the party which made us feel like we were in the way while sitting around the pool).
Beautiful swimming pool and outdoor area. The owners were friendly & welcoming.

United StatesI loved everything about it. Zero complaints. Due to the private location, plan extra time (10-15 minutes) when calling for a car to adventure offsite.
Even more beautiful than the photos. This is a magical place with good energy. Owners are passionate and deeply caring about the guest experience. They property is utterly charming and very comfortable. Truly a one of a kind place run by brilliant people. Perfect venue for weddings, events, or a relaxing holiday. Food and service is high quality.

United KingdomWe didn’t like the small separate toilet with no wash basin! We had a family room, which was spacious but with no seating area as indicated by the bookings website!
The Staff, the owners, the grounds, the locations, and the breakfast albeit simple was excellent. There’s an excellent boulangerie within easy walking distance.

Hong KongThe rooms were not well heated initially, but that was quickly sorted out. Other than that, this was a 5 star stay. When we visited in winter, the place was quiet, which is very sad for such an excellent hotel. In summer, I guess it would be amazing.
The property is absolutely beautiful, even in winter. The restaurant was excellent, with the unusual beef Wellington being brilliantly creative and wonderfully tasty. The manor and its grounds are a reasonable walk from the restaurants and activity of the old town (if you like walking). The Manager was always friendly, ready with answers and advice, and that helped further to make it a really relaxed and enjoyable stay.
