Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe restaurant options for Mittlewihr are very limited. We traveled with our adult daughter who had arranged to have a pocket wifi delivered to the hotel for her use. Unfortunately, the hotel opened the package (though it was not addressed to them) and sent it back for no valid reason. They said that they (the hotel) didn't need it. It took several days to figure out what had happened and by that time it was too late to get a replacement. The hotel finally admitted to what they had done but gave no real apology.
This is a nice attractive small hotel in a beautiful region. We stayed in a large and quiet room on the upper floor. The breakfast was nice but we preferred to have breakfast at a bakery and pastry shop located about 1/2 mile from the hotel. There is also a small grocery store and gas station about 1/4 of a mile away. Parking was free and readily available.

Perfect old fashioned but well kept hotel. Spacious room, bathroom and balcony nestled between vineyards. Very friendly staff who booked dinner for us at table de Mittelwihr where we enjoyed a first class dinner. Highly recommended for those who look for peace and rest.

RussiaTV turned on in the night unfortunately woke up our kid - was very bad. And breakfast isn't worth it...
Great room! Our little boy was super happy he could run back and forth after spending a couple of nights in typical French rooms of 11m2 😂 Great view on mountains, welcoming personnel, bath and shower. Soft bed, clean floor, bath robes. It's a great place to stay a couple of days (or longer if you are there for some reason).

United StatesThe Hotel is situated below the Mandelberg Vineyard and we were fortunate to be in a room with a balcony overlooking the vineyards. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and clean and it was quiet. The breakfast buffet was very good in selection, freshness, and taste. The hotel staff was friendly and professional. The location is excellent for exploring Mittelwihr and adjacent villages. We enjoyed walking in the vineyards. It is a close drive to Kaysersberg and Equisheim. You can arrange for bike rentals. There is no restaurant for dinner but drinks and snacks can be purchased during the day and enjoyed on a lovely patio or inside in a cozy dining area.

BelgiumSincerely, nothing to complain about.
The Mandelberg was THE good surprise of the vacation. First impression is to enter a fairytale castle in a medieval town. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, that spent time recommending what to visit in the nearby medieval towns and giving advices on wine testing (not the touristic ones). The room was conformable, very nice and with s cozy terrace with view on the wine-yards. Good insonorisation (which is a key point when traveling). Finally, the breakfast was well above the average of similar level hotel. We will for sure come back!

Absolutely outstanding stay, this place is far above 3 listed stars. Very clean, roomy, nice decor with French charm. Breakfast is well organized, plenty of choices with a very good service. A special thanks to madame Fabienne, who added a “personal touch” to our stay. Location is perfect too; a short driving distance to beautiful villages of Eguisheim, Kaysersberg, Riquewihr, Ribeauvillé. Colmar is also nearby.

It has a traditional, quality feel, with good decor and solid furnishings. The views are stunning. Breakfast selection was exceptional and overall value for money was excellent. There was literally nothing to criticise. There is no restaurant on site but there are a number of places local. We walked to the excellent Gambrinus in the next village for its simple local food and great choice of beers.
