Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Indiatoilets are small. . Rooms could've been slightly spacious to move around. Doesn't give a Hotel comfortable feeling but I think that's what you get for the price range in the city
Staff are very helpful. location is in city centre. Friendly atmosphere. Kitchen is useful for having your dining. AC is clean air without fragrance (like in some hotels which is suffocating for me). Wifi is great. there is a place to work with laptops. Good for backpackers.

United StatesYou could hear the music from the club across the road at night. If the night scene is what you are looking for, it is great! The kitchen only had an oven and microwave, so it was hard to cook any real meals. There was no real way to lock all your belongings in the room.
The location was amazing for those traveling by train or bus. The beds were super comfortable and it got dark in your space at night even if lights were on. The AC was a lifesaver.

AustraliaThe chill out area downstairs isn’t really user friendly - the musky / dank scent of earth and underground makes it not very comfortable. Would be great if the hostel organised something social Check-in is a little late at 4pm
The location is great for getting off the train and exploring old town. The dorm beds are private but tricky getting into/out-of the older wooden beds. There weren’t lockers in the room that could be used really so you either can use the downstairs lockers or leave your things in a large pigeon hole. Staff were really friendly, can store luggage when you arrive.

ItalyI wouldn't recommend this hostel for people prone to claustrophobia... Weird structure, the kitchen is subterranean and it smells mold, no windows anywhere so it feels a bit like a prison... Too dark, it feels a bit weird really. The toilets were always dirty and the room is unbelievably small! The owner wanted to put more beds to make more money and got us an uncomfortable room instead....
It has a modern vibe, excellent location, friendly staff

FranceSmell of the cigarette because some people smoke in the bathroom, not the hostel fault. The wooden beds are quite noisy when someone goes to bed in the middle of the night.

GermanyThe chill lounge in the cellar was obviously not popular so no possibility to meet other travellers - but this might be different at other times of the year. The check-in time from 4 pm is relatively late, although left-luggage is possible.
The historic building in the sight of the train station was remodelled to host a new generation of hostel with an extra portion of privacy. Once in your cocooned bed it's comfy, clean and modern. The dorms themselves are very tiny, and so are the en-suite toilet and shower compartments - make sure you've trained for your beach body (anyway the beach is only 25..45 min away). The staff is always helpful and friendly.

GermanyThe 8 bed female dormitory seemed like sleeping in a coffin. All the beds were together in like one big box separated by wooden walls. Also, the lockers were only for the bottom beds and most of them broken. It was also annoying that we had to push the button for water in the shower every 10 seconds to keep it flowing… Probably due to the location, but it was quite noisy at night hearing party music and drunk people from the street. What probably bothered me the most was that the common room is in the basement without natural light and no kitchen. It was extremely damp down there and I had difficulty to breathe.
Very close to the train station, good blankets, comfortable mattresses.

Czech RepublicI’d avoid buying the breakfast options, for me it was not worth the money. Getting a breakfast there is so awkward, since it is the person at the reception preparing instead of a bufet and the portion is just sad and small. Some beds have an awfully tiny access that is nit really shown on the pictures and do not have an attributed space that you can lock your stuff in, so beware of that.
I loved the location, it is absolutely perfect. The hostel itself is quite clean and modern which I really liked. The staff was very helpful and nice.

FranceShared toilets were not cleaned that often, and had towels often absent. The beds in the dormitory were very noisy, you could easily feel people moving through the bed frame. I would recommend replacing them with something newer.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place is very central, close to both city center and station.

SerbiaThere was no warm water in the shower and the shower heads were put up in the way where you literally can only wash you hair because you can not move the shower head. And also the shocking information for me was that the deposit is 50e, everything was fine, I got my money back of course but that is a lot of money.
I liked the location, it is right close to the train station, and couple minutes away from all of the touristic locations. Bed was clean and comfortable.

Le Maje hostel was in a great location, close to the railway station, tram stop for the line to the coast and at the edge of the old part of Montpellier. There were many options for food and drinks in the locality and the hostel staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helped me plan my stay. The hostel was peaceful at night, so I was able to sleep well. The shower was good and there was plenty of nice areas to relax in the lounge area.

TurkeyIt's a little weird going to the next restaurant for breakfast. But what's worse is that they are served two slices of dry bread for breakfast. You can't serve this as breakfast and get paid. I paid for breakfast for 4 days, but I didn't eat breakfast for the other two days. My advice is, do not buy breakfast at all.
It was nice overall. The reception was very helpful. The hotel is in the center of the city and very close to the train station..

United KingdomThe private room on the ground floor was comfortable but, by mistake, someone probably coming back from a night out, tried to enter our room waking us up (and a bit scaring us). I would signal better to the other hosts that it’s a private room. For the rest, it was great.
