Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNoisy at night. Lots of young people yelling well past 4a. Our room wasn’t air conditioned so we opened the windows and were attacked by mosquitos
Very lovely little spot. Breakfast was great. A little far from where we wanted to be but the funicular was great fun

AustraliaEverything was great about the accommodation - I'd recommend it to others for short stays in Lyon.
My partner and I really enjoyed our stay. Mimi and Nicolas went above and beyond for us to make sure we were comfortable. The accommodation itself was very clean and in a great location - it was a 15 minute walk to the main restaurant and cafe streets in Lyon Vieux.

The room was large and well furnished, especially comfortable bed. Quick and easy access to Lyon centre by furnicular. Breakfast was particularly good…..excellent fruit, croissant scrambled eggs etc. unfortunately it rained so could not be in the garden, but the breakfast room was equally pleasant.

United KingdomWe would have preferred a room without a spiral staircase, if we returned we would arrange another room.
The property is well located for seeing the city sights and also public transport. There is a convenient car park opposite which costs 35 euros per day. There is an excellent restaurant in the same road. Breakfast was very good. There is a bakers opposite the property where you can sit with a coffee if you arrive before the 5pm check in time. You can also get something there for the onward journey if you leave the property before breakfast is served.,

This is a wonderful place to stay! It will be our only place to stay in Lyon from now on! We came off a Viking River cruise and wanted a couple more days in Lyon—a great city to visit. Mimi and Nicolas are wonderful hosts—took care of all our needs and gave us great advice for visiting Lyon. The room was very cute and nicely organized. The grounds are beautiful—peonies and roses 🥀

AustraliaThe only little thing I would say as a negative was the bathroom was downstairs and it was a little hard going down the narrow spiral steps early in the morning.
It was an enjoyable stay in such a lovely location. The owners were extremely lovely and very accommodating. The breakfast each morning was sensational!

CanadaThe only thing we didn't like is that we wished we had booked for longer to explore in Lyon more and to enjoy this fantastic property for longer.
Gorgeous accommodation in a beautiful facility with a perfect location for exploring Lyon. Mimi and Nicolas were exceptional hosts. Mimi answered the phone right away when we called as we were running late, was so patient with my halting French and was so warm and welcoming. Nicolas came out to greet us and drove with us to find the parking area as the road where the B&B was located was under construction and we never would have found it otherwise. Very unique room up stone staircases, featuring a spiral staircase to a private luxurious full bathroom on the lower level. Fantastic breakfast in a room with French doors out to the garden, delicious fresh coffee, breads, fruit salad, beautiful table linen and dishes. Mimi also helped us with suggestions for dinner at a great local bistro just steps away.

United KingdomThe only minor issue for us as there isn’t a separate shower, only a bath with a hand held shower attachment, which makes it difficult to shower properly. But this wouldn’t stop us staying there again.

AustraliaNothing, we would recommend this property if you are staying in Lyon.
Our hosts Mimi and Nicholas made us feel comfortable and welcome. Waking up to Mimi’s breakfast to start the day was a treat! The property is a short downhill walk to Old Lyon and the fenicular brings you home. Restaurant options nearby. Quiet garden area to work from or relax in. Great value for money.

United KingdomThe stairs to the room were a bit tricky to negotiate, if you had a big suitcase. The shower over the bath took a bit of working out.
We were made so welcome. The room was really spacious. Fabulous coffee table books to browse through. Breakfast was a real treat and a great selection of homemade products. Mimi was a joy. She recommended places to visit, eat etc. It’s location is great if you want to explore the old part of Lyon.

BelgiumCoffee machine leaked, toilet seat needs fixing, entrance and stairs up to the rooms could use some cleaning up.
Great hospitality. Mimi is a fantastic host. Located up the (steep) hill of St. Just - thankfully there is the cable car, otherwise it would be very, very hard to go back and forth to the tourist areas of the city. Coming down the stairs to the superb breakfast table she has prepared is a true delight. (And when we were there the weather was so-so, thus no breakfast in the garden ... when you can have breakfast in the garden, we assume it will be even better). The big suite is comfortable, the bed is good. Please be aware that there are many steps to reach your room ... and that the entrance and staircase doesn't look like the Ritz-Carlton ... but the friendly welcome, the attentive service make up for that. A few things need fixing (the coffee machine in our room leaked, the toilet seat was loose ...) - it really feels like staying at your favorite cousins' house. The warmth of the welcome makes you forget the few details that are not perfect. We used the garage (which is not close by, so do not forget anything in the car ...), but are not sure we would do so again (street parking is available, and free on Sundays and holidays).
