If one is inclined to complain and find fault, then there is always something to nitpick. One can not complain where one encounters kindness.

The hotel owner was exceptionally helpful to me after injuring myself during my pilgrims' walk. Kindness and care for guests is the hallmark of an excellent establishment. The rooms and facilities were clean and the breakfast was sufficient.

Our room was facing the street - most rooms are I guess. Just before where the hotel is, is also a traffic light, which means cars stop there, and then start to move again. It´s noisy, and traffic light works also at night. In September, there were also a lot of harvest-related traffic(big trucks).

Good value for money! It was simple but nice, and somehow very honest place where actually everything you need was there. Including traditional French breakfast, good coffee and charming old-school bar. In Epernay, where everything is rather pricey.. it was ca 1 km away from Avenue the Champagne which is really not a big deal. Plus, free parking in premises.

quite a lot of noise both outside on the busy main road and from one or two of the other rooms. We assumed these didn't have separate bathrooms so we were aware of others getting up in the night. The hotel is probably not suitable for people with walking difficulties as there are lots of stairs. It was a shame the restaurant and bar weren't open to the public as this would have added to the character.

The rooms were fine, about what we were expecting at the price. Lovely showers. A bit basic but for what we wanted they were certainly good. Brilliant breakfast served by our host for whom nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is placed within a 15 minute walk of the centre which we did on several occasions, Very good parking, something Epernay is very short of. Wouldn't hesitate to return,

What a lovely find. I stopped over for one night in Épernay on my way to the Loire region. I found this hotel and selected it for it's simple charm, easy access and off street free parking behind the Hotel. During my journey I had some delay on the road and messaged the owner. That I would be an 1 to 2 hours later. The hotel has a nice vintage style French bar as well and the owners welcomed me there. The room was fresh clean and bright. The location is just on the outer side of the small town of Éparney, you can easily walk to the Centre to visit it during the day and/or a for bite to eat in the evening. But there are also a few options nearby (such as a pizza place I had breakfast at the hotel the next morning. Really good and a lot! Owners are so nice, I will definitely visit again!

I would have liked a bigger (or second) pillow and a reading light.

The staff were very polite and helpful. Communication was good. The room and hotel were very quiet. The shared toilet and shower were always available and I never had to wait. The wifi and TV worked well. The location was convenient for the town centre, supermarket and station. I was so satisfied that I booked an extra night.

Le Colbert is better described as a pension. It is quite basic and the decor dated - but nonetheless comfortable and the staff were very helpful.

Breakfast, at extra cost, was good. The hotel is a little way out of town which was not a problem for us but might be for people wanting to visit the town centre and champagne houses. There is ample parking.

Very unpolite staff, we arrived late due to a car accident, and we could not arrive on time for the check in and we found the structure closed, we were obliged to find another hotel; They did not give us back the refund claiming that they were going to pay fees on that, while booking confirmed was not true. Host is just interested in the money and not in the guests
