A warm welcome from Valerie and Didier. We stayed at the large house and the accommodation was perfect for us (7 people). Super comfy beds, spotlessly clean, private garden with pool. Couldn’t fault the facilities.

Didier and Valerie are amazing hosts. We spent three nights here with our children in two separate rooms located above the reception. Rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed. Valerie and Didier provide a table d’hotes service and so we ate here on two evenings. On both occasions the food was excellent. Breakfast was also superb- croissants, bread, cheese, jams and an offer of fresh scrambled eggs. The pool area is impeccably designed and maintained, as is the rest of the sprawling property. No surprise given the owner is a former architect! Our kids also loved the animals that roamed around the grounds - a donkey, a pony and of course Titi the cat and the very large but friendly dog!

We absolutely loved our holiday at Le Clos Vallis. The gîte was beautiful, nice decor and beautiful grounds. Lovely swimming pool, perfect temperature. The hosts, Valerie and Didier were very welcoming and friendly, and would help in any way they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The property was well located for visiting the sites of the Dordogne, and it was easy to access Sarlat and facilities such as supermarkets and restaurants.

We were pleased with everything

We loved our stay at the property, Didier and Valerie were very friendly and helpful hosts. The location is wonderful, peaceful but just a short drive into Sarlat, which is beautiful. There were loads of great activities and attractions within a short drive. My boys aged 13 and 11 loved the pool.

The air conditioning unit in the room was quite loud.

Beautiful building in beautiful surroundings. Didier was the loveliest of hosts, very attentive whilst also making sure you have space to go about your day. Breakfast was lovely and the location is conveniently close to Sarlat-la-Canéda by car. It was the our favourite place to stay on our trip and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying in the area.

An absolutely stunning set of buildings with heated pool and affirding easy access to Sarlat. What made the stay exceptional was the hosts - warm, accommodating, and convivial. Highly recommended.

Everything about this property is wonderful! The owners Valerie and Didier are so attentive and welcoming. The breakfast was fabulous and the selection of produce was local and Valerie even made the jam. The decor was very stylish and in keeping with the property, the bed was huge and very comfortable. I highly Recommend this beautiful property and it is close to town but you have the privacy and feel of an up market farm stay in the French country side.

Beautiful and peaceful spot. Great place to base yourself for exploring the Périgord Noir or to just chill out. Valérie and Didier are wonderful hosts and also can make a fantastic local sourced meal!

Nothing much really. We did have an issue during our stay, though being pragmatic, this was in no way the fault of the owners. They did their best to resolve something what was out of their control.

Location was fantastic, quiet, secluded and private. Set back just off the main road outside Sarlat. Le Clos Vallis is an oasis of calm with beautiful surroundings, yet minutes away from so much that this fantastic area has to offer. The owners Didier and Valerie are both lovely, warm and attentive people. They really made us feel welcome and will do their best to ensure your stay is as good as it can be, it felt like a little family :-) and thanks again for the bottles of red wine! My Son absolutely loved the Donkey (Penelope) and the Shetland Pony (Joker), it just adds to the fantastic ambience. I rarely go back to the same places more than once, as like to try to new things, but Le Clos Vallis is a keeper, we will be back for sure and hope to meet again the wonderful owners and the Donkey!

Location is far quite out of Sarlat and not walkable so you’ll need a car Breakfast limited for the price with no offer of a cooked egg etc but continental was nicely varied Hotel room was very noisy in the morning walking us up each time. Clanging cutlery and plates. Very little soundproofing within our room away from dining area. I would ask to stay outside if the hotel if possible next time

Very little not to like

Very peaceful, beautiful place. You need a car to visit the picturesque town of Sarlat. Our hosts were delightful. Breakfast delicious and bed very comfortable
