Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing.
They are a small hotel. They only have 12 rooms, which makes their rooms unique. I loved the layout. You could see that alot of thought had been put into the room and design. We were high up which meant we had a beautiful view of the canal and the dam. It was wonderful place to stay.

United KingdomNothing although I’d been looking forward to sitting in the bar doing some people watching and they’re currently reconfiguring that area so I had to people watch elsewhere. Very excited about their plans though.
Brilliant location, comfortable, easy and friendly place to stay. It was our second stay and we’ll be back

United KingdomAs is often the case in Paris, rooms are on the small side - that's okay though as there's so much to explore and see in the neighbourhood.... There's very little communal space in the hotel to chill and relax if that's your thing.... A few signs of wear and tear here and there too but didn't bother us.
Amazing location right on the Canal St Martin; all four of our rooms overlooked the canal which was fantastic; staff are super friendly and helpful; check-in was bright, breezy and easy....

United KingdomThe only thing we would feedback was that the shower tended to flood the floor but it was a wet room so not a big issue.
There were many positives including: - Great location on the canal with loads of bars, restaurants and boutiques nearby. - Outstanding welcome, support and advice from staff, especially Chaim who went over and above on every aspect. - Lovely big rooms for a boutique hotel. - Immaculate throughout. - Great extras in room like fridge, safe, coffee machine, hairdryer, steamer and lots of cupboard space.

CanadaIf I was being picky I might point out that the shower has seen better days, but it was still a lovely bathroom and it really didn’t bother us much.
Though the space was small, it was so well organized that we never wanted for more. The toiletries were amazing, the room felt very chic and clean, we had an amazing stay.

A comfortable place for a one night stopover on our way back to the UK via Eurostar: a 20 minute walk to Gare du Nord. Our room was compact and well- designed with an excellent shower and extremely comfortable bed. It was nice and light, with windows overlooking the canal. Check-in process online was very efficient, and it was helpful to have a few restaurant recommendations (one of which we used - Hotel du Nord - very good). Breakfast was simple but good: freshly squeezed orange juice, pot of tea or coffee and croissant or baguette.

United StatesThe room was small - we knew that, it was well designed, but it was only okay because we wanted the location so badly. And the lack of air conditioning meant that the windows had to be open, which allowed more noise.
The room was very small, which we expected, but the use of space (particularly the bathroom) was a little better than expected. The included breakfast was as expected - a good cup of fresh (really fresh) OJ, a coffee of your choice, and a pain au chocolate. But the "highlight" was the staff who all really tried to be helpful and friendly.

United StatesReally nasty and pervasive smell in the bathroom, probably from shower sink. Also permeated the room. Shouldn’t happen at this price level. Some of the personnel could be a little friendlier

The hotel was in a perfect location, right next to Canal Saint Martin. Our room was large, overlooking the canal, which meant there was some noise from the street outside at night. You’ll be fine if you wear the earplugs the hotel provided! Breakfast was a simple croissant, orange juice and a coffee.

PortugalHmm... don't remember anything. The small room we chose could be larger. But it's Paris, so it was huge. 😅
Perfect for a "petit escapade" and for knowing a beautiful part of Paris, without the wave of tourists You could really feel french, safe, stylish and 10 years younger. 😊 Quite a millennial feell to it. And this is mostly because of the lovely, attentive, casual , interesting chats, and funny employee like Chaim. But also the atmosphere of the hotel showed and impersonated all that feel on the simple and cosy design details. Really, really loved it. And the channel saint martin and the Marais is the perfect place to stay in Paris. Thank you Chaim!! Thank you Paris!

United StatesIt’s a small boutique hotel in the coolest neighborhood in Paris. The hotel staff is friendly and welcoming. They offer a simple breakfast each morning and had great advice/input about activities to partake in during a stay. The room is clean, comfortable, and well equipped. It’s not a luxury hotel but great value and was wonderful with the family.
