Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWas perfect.
Lovely room, everything needed, very peaceful, and location ideal. A short walk from the international station and the city centre, but also only a few metres from the Metro and a bike hire station. Would absolutely stay here again.

NetherlandsThe toilet had a foul smell, parking could be an issue as you need to find a place on the street, and the place felt outdated. There were only stairs to access the room, which could be a problem for those with limited mobility.
Decent room with a comfortable bed. Location is fine, you can walk to the city. Price is OK. Easy check-in and check-out procedure.

United KingdomLocation wasn't bad but it's not super central. If you want to visit the centre you need catch the metro or walk for about 30 minutes. Definitely not bad, but worth noting. The bathroom had a funny, musky smell — maybe some issues with the pipes? Not a huge issue, but definitely noticeable.
The room was quite big and had tonnes of natural light. Checking in and out was super easy, and the place was pretty quiet during my stay (not sure how many other guests were around, I don't recall noticing many other people around).

United KingdomAlthough the room was fairly clean it needs deep cleaning occasionally. Dust under the bed, on tables, skirtings and walls. This would not put me off staying again but something that could be improved.
Great location fifteen minutes walk from Lille Europe station. Shops, cafes and restaurants in the area. Supermarket five minutes from the property. Beautiful building on a quiet road, no noise at all so slept soundly. Good sized room on the ground floor. Fantastic shower. Great to have access to YouTube on the TV (so we could watch Glastonbury!) Helpful owner, on site some of the time. I would definitely recommend. Excellent value for money.

United KingdomNothing I didn’t like but the very small minor things is no mirror in the bedroom, as two women staying in the apartment having only one mirror in the bathroom, took longer to get ready. A shelf under the sink in the bathroom would also be very useful. But again very very small things.
Great stay in Lille, the apartment was lovely, modern and clean. Had great facilities and the luggage storage outside the property was so useful. Only 15 mins walk from Lille Europe train station and situated in a quiet area. Metro which we didn’t use but literally opposite the apartment. We got to Lille early and asked if we could check in early and was able to which was so nice of them. Would definitely recommend this apartment.

United KingdomOn a busy street. The windows kept the sound out but on a hot night keeping the windows open might be a problem. The street down the side is very attractive but the flat is quite a way from the city centre
Nice, stylish flat. Very convenient metro station. The owner answered our questions quickly and the system for entry worked well

United KingdomThe building is lovely and the room was comfortable and clean, with all the facilities you could want. The shower was good with plenty of hot water and toiletries provided. It’s in a quiet area , just a straight 15 min walk to the centre of Lille and the room and the area felt safe. Communication with the owners was excellent and check in/out procedures very easy. I would definitely recommend.

Great stay, quiet room we had. Location is close to the metro (just two stops from the city centre). The room had all basic amenities (including toiletries, and even Netflix). Would recommend to everyone who want to stay a weekend or longer close to Lille centre.

United KingdomOur only gripe was that there were lots of plates etc but nothing to wash them with - we had to use bare hands and shampoo!! A couple of the dinner plates had not been washed after precious occupants’ use. Also perhaps a table lamp might have been nice for the lounge area as the overhead light was a bit strong!! Otherwise, perfect!!
The apartment was clean, beautiful and comfy and staff were friendly and quick to respond

United KingdomThe toilet was in separate room to the bathroom and didn't have a sink, meaning you had to walk around the bed to access the bathroom to wash your hands. There didn't appear to be a fan in the toilet, smells traveled into the bedroom if you didn't close the door. There was also no storage for clothes at all, therefore you have to live out of your suitcase. Coffee machine also didn't seem work, although that might have been us not working out how to turn it on.
Location was very good, easy to get to from the train stations (around 10/15 mins walk). There was a metro stop directly opposite, which was only 2 stops from the centre. For two people the size of the room was good, bed was comfortable. There was a fridge/microwave and plates/cutlery was provided. Big shower, big sink. Decoration was nice and neutral, and the curtains blocked out most of the light. Quiet. TV was good quality, plenty of options such as Netflix and local TV. Check in process was smooth, we were messaged the code to the main door, and picked up a key inside. Had an area to leave your luggage if needed.

TurkeyNot as a dislike I am quite alright with it but not having an elevator could be an issue for the elderly people and special cases. And the stairs were small in diameter which is understandable due to the age of the building. The floors are a bit squeaky again due to the age of the building but I kinda like that it gives a character. The bathroom was quite modern btw. However I don't know if it is a culture difference or something common but the toilets were in a different room than the bathroom; so, you have to change rooms to wash your hands. I found it quite weird. None of these comments are completely negative and I would definitely stay here if I ever find the chance to visit Lille again. (PS. It would be a lot cooler if you had a resident cat wandering around the building 😸)
They respond to messages quickly. They were kind with the requests. The place was quite clean. The shower was huge, the bathroom was huge. The building is a gorgeous old building. There was a tiny cute balcony even. The metro station is just outside and everything was in walking distance. The neighborhood is pretty and calm, no suspicious people at all. I could walk in the night without fear. The gar is 10 minutes away. You don't have to interact with anyone everything works with code. I would definitely recommend and if I ever find the chance to visit lille I would definitely stay here.

NetherlandsQuite dusty (which was tricky for my girlfriend, since she's a tad allergic). Bathroom could have been better (bath had a small puncture (which was excellently solved by staff at the same day - really, great staff!) but also the switch between the different taps was stuck), no elevator, and unfortunately, quite some mosquitos.
Location was superb, excellent bed, wonderful staff, great amenities (nice coffee machine, cloth cabinet, microwave, fridge incl. freezer in the room), modern new windows, very easy to store your luggage for a late exit.

United KingdomThere is no AC in this accommodation meaning that I had to rely only on a single fan to keep my room cool in the middle of August no less. This meant that I had to keep my windows open all day and all night long. However, then I was presented with another issue: the windows don't open very wide at all meaning that during the night, it was hard for cool air to get through them and into my room. Regarding my bed, while it was big and comfortable, it was clearly two single bed pushed together to form a king size bed. Normally I don't mind that, but the two mattresses didn't have a connector, meaning that it was easy to fall in-between them while sleeping. So you had to chose one side of the bed or the other to sleep in during the night. Another problem regarding the bed is a big one. Now I'm not sure which, but after my two night stay I was covered in either bed bug or mosquito bites (likely mosquito bites as staff told me that no evidence of bed buds were found in the bed/mattress) which I only got when I was sleeping in/on the bed. Finally, soundproofing was not the best as I heard loud music being blasted coming from neighbouring buildings.
The aparthotel was only a ten minute walk away from Lille-Europe Station and was also right across the road from the nearest Metro Station which had frequent services to the city centre which was great. The aparthotel had a dedicated luggage storage facility at the back of the hotel which I made good use of in the hours both before and after my stay. My room was big and spacious; it contained everything that I needed for my two-night stay. The bathroom was also big and well-maintained, apart from some enamel in the bathtub. The kitchen was well-stocked with essentials including cutlery, tableware, a coffeemaker, a kettle and a microwave. The Wi-Fi was fast and free, finally the bed was big and comfortable.

United KingdomThe room itself was a little cramped - we were very glad of the large balcony. Cleaning was a bit hit and miss, and the whole place is looking quite tired and uncared for - definitely due a refurb.
Excellent location - directly opposite the metro station, but very quiet at night. Shops, cafes etc. within a few minutes walk, and the city centre is a couple of stops on the metro. Comfortable bed and useful in-room facilities, e.g. fridge and coffee machine. Lovely old building too.
