Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanHotel owner was very nice, affordable, quiet, nice hotel in great location near the old city center. Breakfast was also wonderful! Initially, since I recently skip breakfast, I hadn't had it ordered, but the owner asked if I would like to have it and I'm so glad I changed my mind and took it. It was a wonderful breakfast at an affordable price. Really shows the great care and attention of the hotel owner.

IrelandHard to find anything wrong. It's a very very minor thing - the room was a little bit warm even with the window open, but it also was very humid in Nantes when I stayed. Maybe just a small fan would help. To be fair I did not ask for one so they may have been available from reception.
Very friendly and welcoming at reception. Breakfast was very tasty , just the right quantity and good value as well. Lots of useful help and advice on how to explore the city of Nantes and what to see with guidebooks and maps.

IrelandThe charge for breakfast (7.50 euro) is not included in the booking fee but this is clearly explained on the Booking.com website in advance. I would like to have seen some fresh fruit on two of the three mornings I had stayed there. The lamps are a little dim in the room so difficult to read but overall I cannot fault this property. I would highly recommend Hotel le Cambronne should you visit Nantes.
Delicious breakfast - fresh croissants, bread, yoghurt, fruit compote, chocolate spread, fresh coffee, egg and cheese for those who wished. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location is central yet very quiet. The location is a 2 minute walk from the nearest tram stop and the main tourist attractions are within immediate reach. There are restaurants in the immediate vicinity for which I recommend you book in advance. The main shopping areas are also within a few minutes walk. The staff were friendly, very helpful and welcoming. There was a range of magazines/reading material located on the landing also.

Location is 10/10. Walking distance to airport bus stop and the old town. Safe but lively neighbourhood. I arrived at night and it was self checkin. Very handy. Room is not big but ok for one person. Toilet and shower room clean and separate. Can leave my bag after checkout the next day.

AustraliaThe room would probably be uncomfortably hot in very warm weather as no fan.
The quiet location near main streets of the newer city and a 2 minute walk to tram stop to get to the station or navette to airport. The room was comfortable for one person. Pleasant reception and breakfast.

Excellent location at the end of the historical centre, but half way to the Island of Nantes so perfect to explore both. Staff was very kind and helpful, they organised the early check in for me, gave some useful tips. Room was very clean. Basic, but above 1* it holds. Reception is not open whole night, but you can easily enter with the door code at any time.

HungaryThe room could use brighter lamps, the room is a bit dim in the evenings, therefore not very good for reading. Also, there is no air conditioner, which was not an issue for me, as the weather - fortunately - was not that hot at the time, but it might be for others. There is no net against mosquitoes on the windows, which makes it a bit difficult to let in some fresh air in the evenings. Also, be advised that there is only one big cover for the double bed, not two, so if you are with company and you prefer your own blanket, this might not be the room for you. During our correspondence with the host before my arrival, they kept answering my messages in French, I am still puzzled, why, since in person they could answer my questions in English. I do not speak French at all, so my only help was Google translate.
Location is really good, a short walk to the city centre and Ile de Nantes, and the tram stop is basically right at the hotel if you do not want to walk from the train station (approx. 20 minutes, by tram it is 10). Airport transfer bus drops you off 15 minutes from the hotel, now that Place de Commerce is under construction. So it is quite easy to reach everything. The hotel is in a really quiet small street, so it is great base for sightseeing. Breakfast is a big portion, your typical French breakfast with croissants, bagette, jam, joghurt, juice, tea/coffee, etc. Staff is friendly and they store your luggage after checking out.
