Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe stay was all good. Just for information, it is worth noting that the breakfast (which looked very nice) is only included for the guest rooms, not the apartments. This is quite clear on their own website, although less clear on Booking.com, which states "A continental breakfast is available each morning at the accommodation" on the description. Also bedding and towels are an extra fee, which is quite standard for French self-catering accommodation (but less common in the UK).
Our stay at La Récréation in July was great. Our hosts were very warm and welcoming. Youmna & Anthony gave us some good recommendations of nearby beaches, attractions and restaurants. They also kindly helped with restaurant reservations. The accommodation is thoughtfully decorated and very clean. The facilities in Les Billes apartment were good, with a very functional kitchen. There was plenty of space for our family of four. Our kids loved the pool, which was usable under a cover even when the weather was a bit cooler. The location is nice, with Châtelaudren being a pleasant and characterful small town. There are quite a few places to eat within a short walk, a craft brewery, and a boulangerie for morning pastries. The Notre-Dame du Tertre chapel has some fascinating medieval panel paintings. Several nice beaches and other joys of the Côtes-d'Armor such as Fort la Latte, Cap Frehel, and Île-de-Bréhat are all a short drive away.

United KingdomNothing really, it was all well thought out.
Delightful restored school house. Everything was good quality, clean and in good working order. Smart decorative order and was well cared for. The kitchen equipment was clean and fresh and very practical for a self catering holiday. Bath towels large, white and fluffy. Lovely toiletries and plentiful for 4 people for a week. The beds were very comfortable and with big windows, we could keep cool at night for a great sleep. The pool was warm and very quiet during our stay. The owners, Youmna & Anthony were exceptionally helpful with their introduction to the area and where to visit and checking our stay was comfortable throughout the week.

We had a wonderful stay at La Recreation in the 2 bedroom apartment, as a family of 4. The owners, Youmna and Anthony, were extremely helpful and friendly. The accommodation was spotless and beautifully decorated and themed as well as practical and comfortable. We enjoyed using the pool which was warm and clean. The town of Chatelaudren is very beautiful and has some nice restaurants and little shops, and is a great base for exploring the area. We would love to return in the future!

The room was lovely and after a long drive, it was fantastic to relax in the garden and swim in the pool. Extremely nice posts, even after departure they helped us. Best stay on our entire road trip in Europe.

New ZealandBeautifully renovated original school house, set above the village of Châtelaudren. The rooms were spacious with attention to detail including the provision of bathrobe and towel to use to swim in the covered and heated swimming pool. The meal was devine and not heavy handed like alot of traditional French cusine. It was mostly based on local organic produce. The owners Youmna and Anthony were delightful. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. It was truly a highlight of our visit to Brittany.

We liked everything about this place. Starting from its owners, a wonderful couple who behind of everything. This is rare example of perfection, most talented decoration, restoration, attention to details . This hotel with a great story about a school so everything you will see inside is supporting this story, starting from paint on the wall and finishing names for rooms.

NetherlandsCan't think of anything.
Our stay in La Récréation was a very pleasant experience. The personal attention from Youmna & Anthony made it feel if your are staying with friends, who wants to make the very best of your stay. At the day of arrival they send us a WhatsApp message to ask what our arrival time would be and if they need to make a reservation in one of the local restaurants. When we arrived, they came out the building to give us a tour around the building and told us about the history of the building. Breakfast with home made food or local food was sublime. The first day the gave us a lot of tips where to go and where not. They made also a map with interested things circled. Everyday at breakfast there was a personal talk about the previous day and the day ahead. Youmna & Anthony were really interested about the sites you visited and the plans of the day. The stay was very pleasant and many hosts in hotels or restaurants can learn from the personal approach of Youmna & Anthony.

SpainNothing to complain about.
The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The room and the guest areas were beautifully decorated with very nice details reflecting the history of the school that formerly occupied the building. I was very happy here and I would have loved to stay for longer.
