We expected to be staying in the château but unfortunately we were allocated a room in the modern extension which totally lacked character. The room was small and for a modern building, the bedrooms had no air conditioning.

Bath tub with door installed on wrong side of the bath. Shower would be much better. More social spaces to play a game of cards or a game with friends. But these are small things for an otherwise perfect hotel proving a great service.

The website portrays the property as much more complete than what it is. It still feels like a construction site with final fixings to be completed. There are brick piles adjacent to the dining areas, consiste pipes protruding from the ground everywhere and the fence around the tennis court collapsed. (There are many more examples). A separate note is that the flow around the buffet breakfast does not work.

Beautifull property. Large grounds for kids and a swimming pool.

Food: the breakfast is poor, and the staff starts packing more than 15mins before the end time. The restaurant you have to reserve has literally 3 options: salad, pasta or hamburger. The bar serves a cheese platter which is really bad, which must have been difficult to achive in France! We had the Family Suite, which was poor for a "suite"; no mini bar, no amenities, very little storage space and the smallest safe box I've ever seen (mobile phones could fit!)

Dinner menu a bit limited in my opinion. No AC. We had beautiful weather and it was too worm in the room.

For the price p/night, the (new, clean and comfy) rooms are decidedly small. We booked a double room with balcony in the new part, it was difficult to move around or arrange luggage for 2 people and the balcony did not have any chairs to sit on. Note that the spa facilities, although brand-new and beautiful, are small too: the sauna and hammam can only accommodate 2 people at a time, and there's no indoor pool or jacuzzi.

After a 2½ year renovation, this hotel has created a beautifully designed haven of comfort in these ancient grounds. The decor is modern yet warm, the staff are friendly, the food very yummy (have at least one dinner onsite, you won't regret it) and the grounds and old buildings are gorgeous. Breakfast is copious and included in the price, which is the exception rather than the rule these days. We also had spa treatments (massages and facials) which the team executed with perfection.

The first room had the noisy extractor fan above it!!! I asked the reception to change the room, at first they wanted to charge, and then they sorted at no extra cost. Breakfast was ok, however they had run out of certain things by 9am.

It is early days and some parts of the site are not yet finished. However, this did not greatly impact our stay. Once complete I am sure this will be a first class retreat.

1. The standard room we had, the lock was malfunctioning but upon letting the reception know, it was taken care. 2. The standard room has a connecting door with another room, so the noise from other room was very loud all the time. So it wasn't the best of experience to wake up at 1 am and hear such loud tv noise. 3. We had to pay pet tax, but we didn't receive any amenities for the pet like a water/food bowl, so was not really sure what this tax for. Could've been nice if they'd had explained this. 4. No air condition.

There is no air conditioning and you have only one (balcony) widnow in the room that can only fully closed or fully opened (no tilt option). The room and the bathroom are rather small.

The speed of service at dinner was appallingly slow. We booked for 8.00 pm and got our main course eventually at 9.40. We waited half an hour for them to bring the drinks. Our room was in the old part of the building overlooking the garden, the room was large enough and comfortable but the bathroom is miniscule, bath, toilet and basin all competing for the space, making it very difficult to access the shower which was over the bath. A walk in shower would have been a better choice! The door threshold on our room was missing, not a problem as such, but I would expect more from a 4 star hotel. Modern dining room seemed out of place in the setting of an old building. It has more of the feeling and ambiance of a canteen.

Very friendly staff, lovely location and great food. The walk round the hotel grounds is lovely. We found some lovely horses and ponies in the grounds. Would highly recommend.

The personnel was great, everybody is kind, helpful, professional. Ladies at the reception as well as manager of the restaurant spoke fluent English that is not so common in France and we appreciated it. The environment was lovely.
