Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandLocation was great for Prodains lift... even an easy walk in ski boots. You can basically see the lift from the kitchen window. Parking was excellent too. The apartment is simple, and equipped as expected for such a place - no problems. The rooms and beds are well suited to a family with younger kids (as with us), since the upper rooms and beds are open, and one with restricted entrance height etc. We would definitely go again, and had a great time. Just bear in mind there are two combination locks.. one to get in the building, and one to collect the apartment key from the key safe. We only got given the latter initially, and therefore when we arrived late in the evening could not get in to get the apartment key immediately. It was not a big problem, but if it saves 10 minutes of confusion, happy to point that out.

United KingdomNoise from apartment upstairs was very intrusive, wooden stairs and floors, scraping chairs and heavy footsteps, disturbed us late at night
Great apartment, comfortable, well equipped with plenty of space, bonus parking even though the listing states no parking, great location close to Les prodains lift

JerseyIt would be better to have bedding and towels provided (with cost included in the price of rental).
It was very well located and clean on arrival. The basement was convenient for ski storage. The best thing was the balcony, which has an amazing view over the mountains!

United KingdomThe property is described as having three bedrooms. The third bedroom is in fact a doorless cubbyhole off the upstairs bedroom containing the bunk beds. The entrance is very low and it is small and dark. Kids might enjoy it, but it should not really be described as a bedroom. The photographs on booking.com only showed the main bedroom and bunkroom and not the so-called third bedroom, and I feel this omission is misleading. Other than this, the property met our expectations.
The location was good - quite close to the Prodains lift and the immediate area was attractive with traditional wooden chalets. If the snow had been better, we could have skied to the door.

United Kingdomnot clear that it is a 15mins walk to prodaine lift. car would have been easier or staying close to bus stop. dishes all need cleaning on arrival. only one dustbin bag, 5 dishwasher tablets for a family of 4 for 10 days. power cut in the evening one night caused some concern but was fixed quite quickly. I thought we would get the door code and explanation of how to enter the property prior to arrival but had to phone on arrival. landlady was polite and helpful. not able to ski to door at Easter unfortunately. a ski locker at ground floor level would be helpful.
good amount of space. dishwasher and bath v useful. close to road. no noise.

NetherlandsWe thought this would be good for more than 2 adults. There is one real bedroom with a double bed. The other beds are in a mezzanine with just one very high up velux, so really hot, not enough space for to sit on the beds, the third "room" is on the sight of the mezzanine, really small entree and small bed. No window. So mainly good for not too small children since the stairs to go up are very steep. There is a couch in the living room you can sleep on, the vmc was very noisy. Only one Vacuumcleaner and raclette/fondue stuff for 4 appartments! You have to reserve your time slot!
Location is great, easygoing concierge. We managed for a week with 5 adults...

United KingdomWe couldn't find a vegetable peeler. I suggest getting some granite-style non-stick frying pans as the usual non-stick frying pans get scratched very easily, making us reluctant to use them for health reasons. We couldn't get the basic French channels to work on the TV. We couldn't work out how to change the temperature on the heated towel rail in the bathroom.
I liked that we could enter with a code, as we were able to arrive late at night with no issues. We had a great time here. On a skiing holiday in April, we were able to enjoy the snow up in Avoriaz then come back and enjoy the warm evenings on the terrasse in t-shirts and bare feet. The kitchen was very good. The fridge was amazing - very large, with a freezer compartment, it could easily hold all our groceries. There was a high-quality fondue set, which we really appreciated. We really liked the large dining table. The oven and microwave were very good. The shower was comfortably large and had good water pressure. We never ran out of hot water. It's very helpful having a heated towel rail in the bathroom. It's great that the toilet is separate to the shower room. We were able to park off the street right next to the chalet, despite the listing saying there was no parking. We enjoyed having log fires on the colder nights. We liked the traditional wooden cabinets in the lounge. There were plenty of trays to keep wet/muddy shoes. The beds were comfortable. Thank you very much for a pleasant, stress-free holiday!

AustraliaMisleading to say there were 3 bedrooms. There were only 2 bedrooms and a tiny closet with a bed not even seperated with a door. It was also more expensive than advertised with hidden taxes payable on arrival.
