    Nothing. It was great.

The albergue had great character. It had likely been in use for a long time and had a shabby chic old style. It was very clean, had a large picnic table on an outside porch with great views.

I was totally comfortable there, but if you expect new, sterile facilities this will not meet your expectations.

Full of character and rustic. The hosts keep chickens in their yard, including a rooster!

The chance you take when you choose a dorm room setting. A horrific sleep apnea snorer that kept everyone awake.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was just 1k out of town. Peaceful place vs being in the city center.

Very hot the night we were there so it was challenging to sleep; a fan might have made it possible

Ideal for starting a walk on the Camino; already 1km Along the Way! Friendly welcome. Good shower heat and pressure.

Its a bit of an uphill hike from town to get there, about 1.5km. If you're not here for hiking, it might not be for you. The owner says there's no transport/taxi service. No restaurants here, so eat in town. Breakfast was basic for the price (bread, jam, coffee/tea, yoghurt pot. No air-conditioning. We were OK in July with windows open, but got mosquito bites.

Charming little place with nice views. The room itself was simple, as you'd expect for the price. Chickens in the garden etc. The owner is welcoming and atmosphere relaxed. It's on the camino, about 1.5 km from the start. If you come in via the train station, pop into the camino office in town to get your camino "passport" and information (it's signposted) before you trek out to the room.

A charming Albergue in a rural setting on the edge of SJPP. Clean and comfortable dormitory accommodation. No evening meals but there are some kitchen facilities (which we wished we'd known about!) Would highly recommend.

Washer not updated. Otherwise great place to start ask about dinner don't assume..

Location. Helpful owners. Is out of town a bit, so it is a head start for the uphill day to Ronces. I was on last train and they communicated with me regularly. Owners very patient and helpful answering all/many questions in good English. The breakfast table is outdoors and has stellar views of the Pyranees. The 10-12 dorm beds each had own plug, light, shelf, blanket and Camino bedding. Some beds even had own window. The chickens and ducks have a cute treehouse surrounded by flowers. Other owner gave me ride to town when saw me walking down for credentials. Cozy.

At first, the host was really nice. But later we realized he may have been intoxicated. He spoke Spanish to us and made comments about his English as if he was speaking English the whole time. Later he came into the room and convinced everyone to stay for breakfast despite many people looking to leave earlier for the huge hike across the mountains which he called "easy". He asked if we wanted breakfast which at first I had said no to. Maybe there was a miscommunication (in fact I KNOW there was) but I asked if we had already signed up for breakfast (meaning paid for as we paid for everything through booking.com) and he said we had, pointing to his book. So we stayed for breakfast. Breakfast was fine. I have a gluten allergy and he gave me gluten-free crackers which was kind but I didn't really like them. When we had finished we went to go and a bit up the road he came up to us in his van saying we didn't pay for breakfast. COMPLETE MISTAKE - we immediately took out cash to pay him as this was not our intention. We said sorry a bunch of times and he went in on us about the Camino being about "respect". Totally get it - this is part of his livelihood but the whole interaction was really intense and escalated a bit too quickly in my opinion. He then said that I had left my gluten-free crackers at the hostel and that I needed to leave my bag with my partner, get in the van with him, and go get them because there was "no gluten-free bread in Spain". His hostel was maybe a 5-minute walk away and there was NO REASON for me to get in the car with him ALONE after he had been so MAD at us. It also made me uncomfortable that he told me to go with him alone and to leave my things with my partner. Why couldn't he come if it was such a big deal? I told him I didn't want the crackers and would not be going with him. He was livid. I've since been eating gluten-free bread and pastries in Spain almost every day...

This was a little hard of an experience because at first it seemed really nice. The hostel is a little furhter up the trail on the camino. It's really cute with a beautiful view of the mountains and tons of farm animals to hang out with. All the bunks were clean and comfy.
