We stayed 4 nights and wished it could be longer. We cooked meals, hung hand washing on the line, watched Netflix and generally made ourselves at home. The breakfast was complete with fresh fruit and protein and of course beautiful jams and breads, all served with a million dollar view. Franck advised us on superb dining in Sarlat. Must mention the relaxing gardens.

Not the easiest location to get to if you’re walking. Just keep in mind you’ll be doing some uphill walks from the train station.

La Bayardine is a very fine B&B because the hosts, Nellie and Franck, have worked hard to make it comfortable and enjoyable for all their guests. The deck where onr eats breakfast is quite nice with beautiful views towards the nearby town of Sarlat. The breakfast itself was also very good and more than adequate. Lastly, Nellie and Franck, are very engaging hosts and show a genuine interest in making sure their guests are satisfied during their stay.

finding the location was a bit of a problem as it was not recognized on GPS, but once there, it was worth the effort.

The location was close to Sarlat but not in the city. It offered a quiet and peaceful place to return to after a day of exploring the many sites surrounding Sarlat. Nelly and Frank were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. They offered suggestions for sites and restaurants and even for where to travel to next. Breakfast was wonderful and included homemade jams and yaourt. We are happy we picked this place for five nights.

Having to leave.

The owners made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, extremely friendly and helpfull. Quiet location on a hill with lovely garden and nice view on part of Sarlat. We had good weather and had our breakfast half of the time outside in the garden. Excellent breakfast with daily different types of homemade jam. We were also lucky to have very friendly and interesting breakfast companions. And last but not least Nelly and Franck have a lovely playful little dog called Meg, who if you are friendly to her becomes your best friend. Would certainly visit again when in the area.

The best part was the owners Nelly, Franck, and perhaps the cutest dog Meg. The location is excellent: private but only five minutes from Sarlat. A terrific hub near many of the beautiful sites of the Dordogne valley: Domme, Roque Gageac, Beynac, the chateaus Milandes, Beynac, Castelnaud. The Dordogne river itself with many canoe launch sites. Gouffre Padirac. Etc. Etc.

what a little gem hidden away in a peaceful location but close to the beautiful town of Sarlat. The decor is beautiful and the cleanliness is immaculate . The garden is beautiful and it was a lovely treat to sit and have breakfast in these tranquil surroundings. The home made yoghurt was delicious. We could not have been made more welcome by our host Frank (and of course Meghan) who helped us discover more beautiful sights within this area Roque Garleac and Domme. We loved our stay here and our only disappointment was we couldn’t stay longer. we would highly recommend this property it is fabulous!
