Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was at the top of the building and there was not a lift, so if you have heavy luggage or are unfit, that could be a problem - we sprinted up the stairs. The room was compact but there was enough room, but the toilet was very tiny, but luckily I'm small. Being in the tourist centre, was great but unfortunately there were a lot of rough sleepers in the area - more of a social problem, as there is nothing the hotel can do about this.
The hotel was right in the centre of Tours which was great. It was great to be in such an old building, looking out into the old town; we had a great view. The staff were helpful. There were lots of restaurants, bars and shops in the area, and a lot of attractions nearby.

We loved our stay at Hotel L'adresse. Very comfortable room, friendly staff, room made up efficiently every day. It is in the heart of a lively area of bars and restaurants near Pl. Plumereau but no issues with noise.

SlovakiaSuper location in one of the narrow streets of the pedestrian zone of the historical centre with intensive evening life, yet a room with quiet orientation. The room a bit cramped but clean and sufficient for a short stay. Friendly staff at the reception. Free overnight parking in a walking distance.

AustraliaPower outlet in the bathroom or under the writing desk. I didn’t find them convenient. No elevator.
It was in a lovely area with lots of interesting shops and restaurants. I thought that the Bamiyan in rue du Commerce had the best food in France. The room was lovely, with a window looking out at old buildings. The bed was comfortable and everything was spotless. The lady who manages the hotel was lovely. I enjoyed my stay here.

United StatesNot crazy about stairs but I knew it had no elevator when I booked so forewarned is forearmed.
The service and courtesy of the young owners was just beyond compare. He arranged some train reservations for me and when I left he drove me to the station himself rather than trusting taxis.

United StatesIt would have been helpful to have known in advance that you cannot drive to the hotel, that it is not reachable by car, so that we would have stopped driving around, would have parked the car, and walked the last few blocks to find it. The shower was a little strange, with a very slippery tub to stand in. We used a towel on the bottom of the tub to stand on.
The hotel is very clean, with comfortable beds, and friendly staff.

United KingdomFrench Hotel rooms don't have kettles! A challenging concept for English travellers!
Amazing location in the centre of the old town, close to magnificent monuments. So many restaurants on the doorstep and round the corner in the main square. My room was light, airy and comfortable, decorated in a simple, pleasing style so it felt like home and was always a pleasure to return. The hosts were charming.

GermanyI always like to have a water carafe on the room with fresh drinking water. This wasn't the case. I went out and bought some water in the supermarket, which is very close
Personell is very nice, it is a family business, I asked for a water kettle because I like to drink tea in the mornings and evenings. they don't have water kettle for the rooms, but they gave me hot water from the kitchen.

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Everything is exactly as described. The hotel is clean and the bed was comfortable. The location is in the old town down a lovely cobbled stone street with lots of cafes, bars and restaurants in close proximity. The Italian restuarant directly opposite is very good indeed and visited 3 times. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice.

NorwayWe didn't stay long enough to really discover the best of Tours, which seems to be quite a long city spread out along the river. It's quite far from the train station, but there is a bus and tram within easy walking distance. Would reccommend researching and booking a restaurant in advance if you're looking to discover the 'gastronomic' side of Tours, as sadly we didn't.
Wonderful location, right in the heart of the medieval town with all its charm. The staff were very helpful and flexible in checking us in. The room was cosy and practical. The reception rooms were stylishly furnished.

United KingdomThe shower had a curtain which stuck to your legs when showering.
The B&B is in a pedestrianised area of Tours near a number of restaurants. There is (limited) bike storage in the stairwell of the property. The owner recommended a very good restaurant for us and provided a hairdryer for my use. There was an air conditioner in our room which was good as it was a hot evening and the people in the neighbouring property were chatting outside into the small hours so we couldn't leave the window open.

Excellent location, right behind the main square in the old city. We had a room on the first floor with a little balcony. The windows block out any sound from the street below, making it easy to enjoy the town as long as as you want, and get back for a cozy sleep. Great bed, too!
