Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceLed lighting a little low in room.
The building is highly original and very unique. The rooms are of excellent quality as is the copious breakfast. We received a very warm welcome. It was very easy to access our room outside normal reception time. There is a shop with local and organic goods on site. Very reasonably priced parking available close by. L'Oisellerie is ideally placed right in the center of Angers within a few minutes of the castle, museum, main theater, city center, shops and restaurants. Angers is a lively historical and student city. Great for a weekend getaway. Will definitely be back, and soon!

United StatesWe could hear all of the other guests. Starting at 5:15 in the morning, it was an almost steady stream of noise.
The host was awesome and the location was great. The property was good too.

United KingdomPerfectly located in the old part of town, near the cathedral, L’Oisellerie was a wonderful place to stay. Steeped in history, it has kept all of its historic charm while being comfortable and stylishly restored. The bed was very comfy, the walk in shower was lovely, the decor and attention to detail was fabulous. Johanna was so friendly and the breakfast was amazing. We’d definitely stay here again.

Great central location in historic building. The room had been tastefully modernised with several interesting features. The continental breakfast was excellent with many locally produced options. Lovely charming and weloming hostess.

This is an amazing historic house, in a beautiful city. It was an absolute privilege to meet one of the the current owners , Johanna, who with her partner obviously relish their time as custodians of a very special place. The furnishings, bathroom and bedroom - first class - and the breakfast second to none if you like ‘proper France’. This is a little jewel not to be missed. Mike and Kate Ward, Kent Anglettere

United KingdomThe only slight glitch is the basin tap which does not allow you to control the water temperature.

United Kingdomnothing. If you want lifts, on-site parking and a pool or gym, this may not be the place for you. If you like the personal touch and something unusual, then this is it. We would definitely stay here again.
It is a very old (but well restored) solid timber framed building in a narrow street with wonderful original features. The bed was most comfortable. Johanna, our host, was kindness personified. It is a very welcoming hotel. It is also excellent value. The home-made breakfast of yoghurt, crepes, croissants, bread and preserves was gorgeous. Guests should be mindful that the stairs may be unsuitable for those with mobility issues. Municipal parking is available nearby.

AustraliaThe only strange thing was the tap over the sink, that seemed to just get hotter the longer it was on
Our host Marlène was so helpful and lovely. The whole building was so delightful, including our little wooden door across the window into the light well / stairwell. Although the room is small, it was very carefully and well fitted out to be very comfortable and had everything we needed. The bathroom was quite large with a great shower.

FranceSome guests may find the multi-level wooden staircase hard to manage and/or rather noisy (as guests ascend/descend). It’s all part of the experience.
A charming 16th century building with well-appointed rooms that artfully balance with modern comfort and convenience with old-world touches. Host Marlène was extremely warm, welcoming and informative.

Tastefully decorated and super clean room. Bed was big and comfortable, we slept really well! The standalone bath is an absolute delight, the perfect recharge from the rain. Hostess was a really nice and welcoming lady. Breakfast was traditional French with a well made croissant, proper french bread, yoghurt, cereal, Nutella, fresh Jam and honey, coffee and tea! Delicious! The building has beautifully dated, the style of the building is retained on the inside as well, quite a special experience we truly enjoyed 😊

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing.
Amazing old building, beautifully furnished room and very comfortable bed. A bit quirky for some, perhaps, but we thought it an absolute joy. Lovely breakfast too. OK, so you have to park a (very) short distance away but you are close to the heart of the historic quarter as well as some good restaurants. All in all, a veritable jewel!

United KingdomNothing. It’s unusual and you’d need to be happy with stairs if on a higher floor but it’s well worth it.
Fascinating historic property sympathetically restored. Very comfortable bed. One of the very best breakfasts of our recent travels and the lovely, easy friendliness of Johannes.

United KingdomI didn’t dislike anything about it but should point out a couple of things that others may not like. Access to the rooms may be difficult for some people given the very old and steep wooden staircase. There is no lift so someone with mobility issue would probably struggle. The property also lacks air conditioning and although there was a fan provided the night we stayed was exceptionally warm and stuffy.
It is a lovely B&B slotted into the most amazing medieval building which marries contemporary styling without damaging the integrity of all the old original wooden features. There is a bedroom on each of the landings that are each an original room of the house. We stayed in “The retreat” which was originally the kitchen of the house. It was furnished in a comfortable, contemporary, industrial style that complemented the original features of the room. Our host, Johanna, was lovely and helpful. Added to which she seemed more than happy to talk about the history of the building. It was clear that the renovation of the property had been a real labour of love! in addition she provided a lovely breakfast of local produce that included home made crepes and yoghurt.
