Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesDelicious French breakfast every morning which was a great opportunity to meet the other guests and to learn from their travels. Host was very helpful with suggestions for getting around and even made restaurant reservations for us. The location was fabulous, right by the Plage Bonsecours and a short walk to the shops, restaurants, and sights within the walls.

The owner Xavier was incredibly helpful & responsive to numerous questions before we even arrived & he gave us a very warm and entertaining welcome, with excellent advice on where to eat in Saint Malo. The room was thoughtfully & stylishly designed & breakfast was delicious, with the emphasis on organic local produce. We really enjoyed meeting the other guests too, with comfortable sofas to sit & chat in. Parking is paid on street very nearby but is free between 12-2pm & it was no problem to add hours without moving the car. Its very near the Bon Secours seawater pool and beach and access to the ramparts, which are well worth walking.

United StatesThe fact that I was with my partner, I was quite ready to fall in love with Xavier. No truly, a wonderful host. A perfect location in Saint Malo. Highly recommend.
The breakfast was delicious ... and a little masterpiece every day ... a local butter cake, or a prune tart, with wonderful stories of the history from Xavier the owner. The freshest of fruit and butters, and beautiful jam, pastries. A delight. Coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice ... come on! x The room spotless. And smelt of L,Occitane The Vert, if I am not mistaken. Bed comfortable. Xavier was so helpful, in that French, exclusive, remote, yet present kind of way. Watch out ladies, he's adorable, and doesn't know it. Really enjoyed the stay. Be prepared for a hike up the beautiful spiral staircase ... only a ships mast in the making. Well that's only if you are in L'Adorable room, as we were ... and there's a story to that too, which I won't spoil. Laura and Richard x

AustriaCheck-in and check-out times are tricky if you come by train. Since it is a B&B rather than a hotel you cannot deposit your luggage, but there is a hotel, Ajoncs d'Or, which is very close and where you can deposit your luggage (5€) and pick it up all day.
A wonderful old house, completely refurbished, very stylish and still comfortable. A lovely lobby with a fireplace, which is used in the mornings and evenings. Spacious rooms, spotlessly clean, very quiet, with lots of cute little details. Simple, but delicious and, above all, organic breakfast (local producers!). Very nice owners.

We were truly delighted with our stay. The accommodation is nestled right in the heart of the old city, offering a genuine glimpse into its rich history. Despite the building's impressive age of 400 years, the room amenities are refreshingly modern. Please note, there isn't an elevator, so those staying on higher floors will need to navigate the historic stairs. This might be a consideration for those who find steep stairs challenging. However, for those who can, it's a truly unique experience. The owner was wonderfully attentive, preparing our breakfast to our preferences. While the breakfast was simple, it was delicious. Given the challenges of securing a taxi in St. Malo, we're especially grateful for the owner's assistance in arranging one for our departure.

This interesting and well maintained property is a gem. The host, Xavier, is a delight to talk to and has that rare capacity to facilitate engagement among the guests. He serves a simple and delicious breakfast which is included. Did I mention the freshly made to order orange juice? He is interesting and make for a nice connection when you are a complete stranger in the town. The building is interesting (built around 1600) and has served as a brothel and a jazz club. The rooms are very comfortable !! Did I mention the awesome shower?? I must also mention that the architectural details are incorporated into the decor and add to the elegance of the atmosphere. Xavier made the whole experience a warm and fun one. We highly recommend this place!!

United StatesThis is to no fault of the hosts (and they even sent a message the 1-2 days period to our arrival about this), but parking is very difficult should you have a car. We parked outside of the city walls at a public parking lot which was easy, very inexpensive, and felt safe. Parking inside the city walls proved too difficult.
Excellent location. Clean, warm, and inviting. Juliette and Xavier were exceptional hosts. Very responsive, kind, friendly … we cannot say enough great things about them. Breakfast was outstanding. Fresh and local fruits, jams, pastries, croissants, etc.
