Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

NetherlandsI’ve stayed here at least 10 times since 2016. Unfortunately they never recognise or acknowledge this. (I don’t expect staff to remember my face, but their system should flag this…). We have 2 specific rooms that we prefer and always stay in. I requested the me of these rooms again. Unfortunately we didn’t get our preferred room. The room we stayed in was nothing special. The bathroom was messy- the sink spills water everywhere and the toilet seat didn’t fit the toilet. Staff at check-in was surly. I will choose a different hotel next time (already planned two next trips to Paris) as we primarily come back we like the rooms so much.
We always stay here because we like the location.

JapanI stayed at this hotel for the first two days and the last day of my two-week trip. Zina, who was at the front desk at the beginning and end, was very kind. On the first day, I didn't know how to set the air conditioner, so she came to my room to check. On the last day, she solved my taxi problem. It was a great help for those who don't speak French well. There were many other kind staff members. The hotel was clean.

I was very happy with the breakfast. I like plain unsweetened yogurt, fresh fruit, cheese, eggs, cereals for breakfast and all of this was available and high quality. Also, they had tea bags of a nice brand that I liked rather than "just" Lipton or Twinings, which I really don't like. Staff was friendly. We were able to get into our rooms quite a bit earlier than the official check-in time. It is very quiet, which I much appreciated. It is located in an interesting part of the city that is worth exploring on foot. Also, restaurants and grocery stores are close by.

South AfricaRoom is small, but a bit larger than others by Parisian standards. A fridge in the room would be nice and water bottle for 2 people instead of just 1 bottle when the room is booked for 2 would be good. Would still highly recommend
The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the shower had good water pressure. Hotel is close to great restaurants, metro and bus lines, the location was great for us because it was close to central attractions and yet away from the noise. We also received free breakfast from the hotel for one of the days that we stayed here, which was very much appreciated.
