Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI reserved a parking space in advance, which was confirmed but there was no information about how to access the space. We were fortunate in finding a space and the hotel had a notice saying the car park was full unless you'd reserved. They didn't ask for a number plate, so it just didn't feel well organised.
A warm welcome and a clean, comfortable room. We were at the back of the hotel, which was good because it's on a very busy road. That said, it's an easy walk into town. Overall we had a good stay here, we didn't eat because we prefer to go out.

United KingdomEven though the location is nice to some extent, it is no good if you are used to sleep with your window open. The hotel is located at the most intense traffic junction of the town, even during the night is does not calm down.
The location of the hotel is nice because you are in walking distance to the town center which is interesting .

FrancePlease what your final payment VERY carefully. Nowadays one finds that many business just push their card-reader towards you and ask you to swipe your card. On a busy check-out morning, this is what happened at the IBIS Vienne. We were not offered a print out of the invoice before being offered the card-reader. We were expecting to pay for our underground parking. We insisted on the card reader receipt (no longer routinely given in France) and to our horror found that we had been charged for our room (which had been paid for in full on Booking) as well as the parking. We immediately offered our card for the refund to be put on - routine in the retail sector and were astonished that IBIS cannot do this. Currently we have paid twice for our room. We had to leave our full bank details (which we do not like to do) and are promised a refund through our bank "in due course". This is completely unsatisfactory. We are reluctant (as frequent users) to stay with IBIS again.
Centrally located IBIS, you get what you pay for.

NetherlandsParking is challenging, especially having cars that are getting bigger all the time. Avoid the parking space when having a large car like an SUV We booked a 3rd bed, that turned out to be an uncomfortable sleeping chair...
The room was clean, friendly staff. The hotel is situated near the river and next to the Vienne center. Easy and quick to leave the highway when you are passing through to Spain for example.

FranceI'm not much of a complainer. I did notice a tiny bit of mould at the bottom of the shower glass. That's all really.
The reception staff were very pleasant and kind. The hotel has a fun vibe to it with the musical decorations and the little guitar in the seating area of the reception. If I'd have stayed longer, I would definitely have enjoyed playing some babyfoot. The area seems a little gloomy at first but it's actually quite nice once familiar.

United KingdomBreakfast was not worth the extra money. They had run out of orange juice. There was not enough bacon for everyone. I had the last tea infuser. Beds had a topper which meant they were too hot and I could not sleep. I ended up sleeping on a towel on top of the duvet.
Nice choice of loose leaf teas which was good. The scrambled egg was properly cooked and tasted nice. Choice of pastry was good and nice jam selection, We really liked the bar and breakfast area with funny basket chairs, guitar to play and fantastic view of the Rhone. Staff were super friendly. Sound proofing was effective as we did not hear the traffic. Well done.

Belgiumi did not like the parking. You had to ring a bell in order the staff to open the door after providing your room number. The parking is narrow and if a car "takes" two places you may not find a parking. we had a triple room that it was small for three people. also there were only 3 towels provided.
