Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

SwitzerlandThe only drawback of the room was that it was not noise-insulated, due to the fact that we could easily hear the guests in the room above us whenever they walked around/talked. The toilet room is in need of a refresh of paint, as the walls were a bit old and yellowed.
The check-in process was very quick and efficient. and the receptionist was very friendly and accommodating. The room itself was of a decent size, very clean and had a comfortable bed. The room we received faced the main street; therefore, it was a relief to discover that the windows were "doubled" to keep out the noise when closed. The hotel is in close proximity to several bars, cafés, bakeries, pharmacies, supermarkets and restaurants. So one doesn't necessarily have to go to the "tourist" areas to find a decent meal. Although bus stops are close by, the nearest metro station is around 10 minutes away on foot. This said, it worth the effort walk about to discover the surroundings before heading to the Underground to explore the rest of the city with public transportation.

United StatesThe elevators were broken through most of my stay. I was on the 4th floor so this wasnt convenient at all. The staff fortunately carried my suitcase upstairs and downstairs when I left for me so this mitigated the problem somewhat

GreeceI didn't like that although we asked for a double bed, there were two single beds combined. The location was a bit further away from the nicer area of Lyon, not too far though. Small detail but I didn't like that the toilet was separate from the restroom.

Great staff, very friendly and helpful. They coped with my terrible attempts at French and made me feel very welcome and safe, especially as a woman travelling alone. The room was quiet, clean and a good size for one person, and was tidied each day with clean towels.

ArgentinaIt was a nightmare, after driving from Paris I got there at 12AM. The guy at the reception told me the reservation through booking was made for 2 (when it was actually made for three: my wife and my 10 year old son). He said we could not get into the room and he had no rooms for 3 people. He charged me extra 50 euros to put a matress on the floor (yes on the floor) in the double room, for my son. He made me help him to pull the matter from another room. it was disgusting, really. I need to get my money back made me pay. I will make a denounce before Consumer Protection if not.

United StatesThe staff was not polite and not accommodating. It’s the ONLY property we stayed at in our 30 days in Europe that would NOT call a cab for us. They didn’t care we missed our train. I made a mistake when booking this property and they didn’t care it was a mistake they still charged me for 2 rooms.
