Small, basic room. No facilities (kettle, fridge, microwave)

A fire alarm went off at 6 am the first night of our stay. Cue sleepy guests peering into the corridor and wondering if we were in mortal danger. after about 10 mins we were reassured it was a false alarm but all awake b6 then Apart from that the air conditioning had broken. It was incredibly hot spell so almost impossible to sleep. Were on first floor so opening the window to let some heat out made it very noisy and the cig smoke from people below drifted into the room ( maybe that set the fire alarm off). Reception apologised but they couldn’t get it fixed during our stay

The staff were excellent, the problems outside of their control. It was clean, in a good location and the facilities great for a 2 star. Nothing too much trouble for staff who got us extra pillows and let us use fridge overnight.

A great location next to the station and within a short walk to town. They also provided a code to an enclosed and locked bike storage garage next to the train station where we could lock our bikes. The EV6 passes right by the hotel.

Nothing to dislike about the hotel. The only downside is that if you are arriving late at Basel Euroairport and need to take a taxi, the cost (€70) is as much as the hotel. But, if you are not time-constrained, the public transport connection from the airport to Mulhouse is fine.

I booked two rooms so, to keep booking.com happy, I am repeating my review for the second room. We stayed here because we were arriving at Basel Euroairport late and, even checking 4 months ahead, all our usual hotel options in Basel were amazingly expensive even for Switzerland and including the Ibis there (some event going on?) It was a good choice - very friendly, helpful reception (even at 11pm) and, for a budget hotel, very comfortable, rooms. We had two triples, even though we are a family of four, and these rooms have a neat arrangement of a single bunk-style bed above one end of the double bed. Clever, space-efficient arrangement. Slept very well - comfortable beds, the sound-proofing was excellent and the shower/bathroom clean and with good shower pressure. The continental breakfast was more than adequate - nice fresh bread and croissants and plenty of cheese, ham (for the carnivores), fruit, juice, coffee, tea. All-in-all a very good choice even if your main destination is in Switzerland, as was ours. The price is half that in central Basel (for anything, not just a hotel) and Mulhouse itself has a very attractive centre. If you need to head on by train, e.g. to Switzerland, the hotel is 2 mins walk from the station, and Mulhouse to Basel main station (Basel SBB) is only 20 mins.

Air conditioning wasn't working and noisy plumbing with high pitched whine when hot water used by anyone in the building. Staff said being looked at but not resolved during our stay.

The location was very convenient for the centre and easy access to secure covered parking.

Very small room but expected. dark and small entrance and breakfast area . Breakfast is not good but expected . There is a very bad smell and humidity in the all corridors.
