The restaurant was phenomenal. We asked for a special table and they were able to accommodate us. The food was delicious. We got a great recommendation for the vine. We got a little gift at check-out - a bottle of vine. It was so thoughtful. Thank you so much. The rooms were cleaned daily. The hotel have a beautiful garden with friendly animals. Pool is also a big plus. We absolutely loved our stay. Merci.

The property was lovely - well maintained and beautiful. The rooms were large and comfortable, the bathrooms were tastefully renovated, the surrounding grounds were green and peaceful. The staff members were helpful and kind, and the food was outstanding.

We tried last minute for a meal on the second night but it was fully booked. Reservation required.

The welcome on arrival, the natural garden areas and spacious bedroom set the tone for our stay. The evening restaurant meal was delicious. Beautiful planting and interesting buildings, plus a secluded pool to enjoy. Exceeded our expectations.

Honestly we really loved the hotel, but just a few small suggestions. The pool area is open until 19:30 which we felt was a little early, especially if you’ve been out sightseeing all day. However, we got out of the pool at 19:30 and didn’t see anyone closing the area. It would be good to have some recommendations of restaurants close by if not eating in the hotel restaurant. It is a small village with only a few options, but some are a lot better than others. However, we didn’t ask for recommendations, I’m sure the staff would have happily given recommendations if we did ask. Breakfast is a little more expensive than other hotels, but the quality of the food is very good. The cost adds up to quite a lot if staying multiple nights. We had a roofbox on our car and the staff weren’t sure on the height restriction of the car park. Fortunately we always got a space right outside the main building but it would have been good to know the height of cars that can fit in the bigger car park just incase we needed to park there. Not much that can be done but the car park gets quite full.

The grounds of the hotel are truly beautiful, we really liked that the hotel was spread across multiple buildings, it made each room feel very private. There is a beautiful garden and small farm where some of the restaurants ingredients are sourced from. Very accommodating of our dog and baby, we requested a ground floor room and given the age of our baby were very conveniently given a room tucked in the corner so we didn’t feel like we were disturbing anyone else when the baby woke in the night. There was also a small courtyard outside our room so we could enjoy a drink outside after our baby went to sleep. Although we didn’t use it, we did see a high chair in the bar area. We didn’t see a single high chair in any French restaurant! There is also a lovely children’s play area next to the pool and the pool is warm enough for babies. Every single member of staff was so friendly and helpful. They managed to squeeze us in at the bistro on a French public holiday, and accommodated our request to sit in the bar incase the baby was noisy. The staff were extremely helpful in helping get a same day vet appointment for us after I accidentally booked the wrong day with my limited French. We were even given some plates and cutlery to enjoy a picnic in the grounds on our last night, and were very kindly given wine on check out to remember our stay. The pool area is really nice and the pool is warm. I liked that it was separate from the main building so no rooms would be disturbed by guests visiting the pool. We were lucky enough to be the only people at the pool area when we were there, but when we had a look while looking around the grounds it did look quite busy on one of the days. The food is excellent, as is the wine list. We dined in the bistro one night and from the bistro menu in the bar on another. If we didn’t have a baby, we would have dined in the restaurant, but it felt a little too formal for us. We are pescatarian and found the menu sufficient.

I loved staying at Auberge du Bon Laboureur in Chenonceau with my family and can easily say it was the best part of our ten day trip across the country. The hotel staff was so kind and welcoming, we relaxed in their pool and jacuzzi after long days sightseeing, had a wonderful dinner at their excellent bistro, it felt like home away from home.
