Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe rooms are getting tired and need sound proofing.
The food at the restauant was simple and tasty. It's a pity that the buffet of entrees they used to serve is no longer available. Location is very good. Early breakfast from 0600 is a good thong if you are travelling.

FranceIt was a shame that the room looked directly on to the car park. As the lighting was bad in the room, we needed the curtain open to have enough light, but as there's no frosting on the window, people can look straight into the room. So that could be an improvement, to have some film on the window. We also found it rather strange that there was no central light fixture in the ceiling, only two bedside lamps. At breakfast, there was no warm food, so there were no fried or scrambled eggs with bacon or sausages. There were cold boiled eggs only. There was no brown bread, which I always prefer.
We chose this hotel for its location, as it's right on the beach front. It was great to have breakfast and be able to go outside and be on the beach directly. The room we had was on the first floor and was small but comfortable. The bed was nice and firm but not hard and there were ample pillows. It had a very small bathroom, but everything was there and it was clean. I can also add that it was a very silent room: we only heard noise if there were people in the hallway. Of course I don't know if we had direct neighbours in this case. The breakfast spread was not bad, as there was a lot of choice. There was bread, different meats and cheese, cereal, yogurt and a lot of fresh fruit including fruit salad (made with fresh fruit). You could make toast and even warm up little pancakes and there was a toaster. The bread choice was baguette or white sliced bread, then there were pains au chocolat and croissants. The staff were very friendly; everyone was smiley and cheerful and they seemed to be very well-staffed in general, there were always several people around. We ate at the restaurant at night. They had a decent menu and the food was excellent. The waiting staff was friendly and very efficient. Another plus for this hotel is that they don't have a real closing time for the bar. They told us that they would be serving drinks so long as there were people. There is always someone at reception, so the hotel is never closed, no codes needed to entrr after hours.

United KingdomThe location is nice, on the seafront. Yet the accommodation is quiet. The restaurant is very pleasant, with views of the Channel. The rooms are in a motel style wing with good, private parking. Each room has a door to the outside of the building, giving easy access to the parking spaces. This is very is very convenient if travelling by car, because it is possible to take suitcases, etc. straight into the rooms.

United KingdomThis is a fairly basic hotel but it is perfect for the channel tunnel - just 5-10 minutes away. The room was clean and the bed comfortable and staff were very friendly. The hotel is right on the beach and we had a great walk along the sea front. We had dinner at the hotel as it was convenient and weren't expecting much but we had a really good simple steak/frites with a nice house red. Breeakfast was good too. You can't expect too much luxury at this price but we found it really good value for money.

SwitzerlandA bit gloomy. Not so clean in places. The staff were sometimes a bit gruff.
the hotel is out of town and very near the Calais beaches which out of season and in bad weather are not so attractive. The room I had was quiet, comfortable but not very big with a serviceable bathroom. There was no lift to the floor I was on and the corridor to it was not so fine although it was close to the bistrot restaurant which served me an excellent moules frites and top class local beer and a good white wine in a pichet. The continental buffet breakfast self-service only was good if not a bit industrial. There is plenty of parking at least when I was there.
