Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bathroom is very small, not much space. There's no air dryer in the room, you need to request it and need to give your ID to staff until you return the air dryer, this was a bit inconvenient. You also have to pay city tax when arriving for each day which we were not warned about, it's not a huge amount however it would be good if it was already included in the price or disclosed clearly when booking, plus how much so you can plan accordingly. At the end we thought another hotel might be more convenient considering what was missing from the room at that price and the distance to the center.
The room was alright and clean, nice bed. Very close to public transport although a bit far from center (30 to 45 min minimum). Safe area.

TurkeyYou need to bring your own hair dryers and soaps. It's a very simple room, no wardrobes. Breakfast needs to be offering more variety.
The rooms are clean, but are not offering hair dryers. If you are looking for a simple room to sleep in, that's a good choice of hotel. The staff are very friendly. The breakfast is just a very simple one with croissants and jam.

HungaryWe chose a tandem room, without WC and shower so we had to use the shared WC and showers. Sometimes, the WC were dirty... but it's entirely the other clients' fault, since the staff really clean everything many times a day. Metro station was not very close. Tip: if you have an unlimited transport ticket, take the tramway and then the metro.
Modern and clean hotel, nice staff.

GreeceThe first time around (room for 4), the price was correct. The second time (two double rooms) I think that what we paid was way too expensive for two tiny rooms in an 1 star hotel (about 100 euros per room per night). The bathroom is tiny even for kids and in the double room there is hardly any space to move around. Many rooms (in our case, 2 out of 3) are just over the Montrouge cemetery. For me that wasn't a problem, but for other guests it might be. It is a fairly long walk from the nearest metro station (10-15 minutes), so if you have kids or any mobility issues, or heavy luggage you should take note. Also it is a fairly long ride to the city centre, although as it is almost the end of the line there are always free seats. There is also a tram station 5 minutes away.
We stayed at F1 twice, first it was 2 nights in a room for 4 persons (with private bathroom), then 2 nights in 2 double rooms with private bathroom. Overall, it was correct for an 1 star hotel. Clean and relatively comfortable. There is a big supermarket nearby. There is also a coffee machine and automatic vendor in the lobby. I liked the wallpaper (retro travel ads).

United KingdomNobody really wants to share bathrooms and showers. Also offering that breakfast at €7.50 is ridiculous, especially with no hot options. No Pain Au Chocolats either.
The location was decent, the staff were helpful enough and the rooms were tidy

BelgiumBathroom was really small. I’m 1.87m and they should not have added the toilet next to the shower and sink. Or make a toilet in the other room. Instead of the second door to go out. Thats a big space for improvement. They could easily make the bathroom twice as big if they remove door to go outside. Breakfast is also rather easy add some eggs with bacon and it improved allot

Czech RepublicThere was only a single chair even though the room was for two people. Bring earplugs if you are sensitive to noise while falling asleep as our window faced a busy road.
The staff was friendly and we could store luggage storage after check-out for free. The room with shared bathroom was equipment with a wash-basin.

United KingdomLack of kettle.
Very small but clean rooms. Just basic and good enough for someone who spent whole day out of hotel. Good connection with the central Paris by public transport. Very close to ring road, which was bonus for me. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking just opposite the hotel and could be cheaper when paid on the site as hotel has some discounts for using it.
