Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWe only had a small trash bin in the bathroom, no other bin
The staff was really friendly and helpful. Breakfast had everything we needed. Even though the room was rather small, it had everything we needed and we were very happy. The bed was so comfortable and it was quiet!Very close to two different metro lines and all kinds of restaurants. Only short drive with the metro into the city, montmatre only two stops away. Surroundings seem kind of scary at first (some groups of men standing around) but it was no problem at all and we felt safe. Price was good, would recommend!

United KingdomShower cabin was a bit small (but shower pressure was good) and the Tea selection in the room could be a bit better.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, offered us a quieter room on the top floor. Everything was carefully thought of, we even got welcome post cards and a cute wooden fan to face the heat! Bed was very comfortable, shower amenities excellent.

United KingdomI have seen reviews talking about the area being dangerous -- the hotel is located at the end of a metro line but still on the fringes of the touristy area of monmatre -- just like any city, you have to pick where you walk alone at night (i.e. heading south is probably fine, heading north is probably not). I think people that have left reviews saying the street 'feels dodgy' are just not used to cities.
Great hotel option for us for a stay for the Olympics and very good value for money. Breakfast was good, everything was clean and tidy, the staff were great and the location to the metro straight from Gare Du Nord was perfect as well.

United KingdomOutside the hotel seemed a bit sketchy. Be careful of any messages via booking.com from this hotel as their system was hacked and I got scammed out of some money. I don’t blame the hotel, but good to be aware that messages from them should be double checked for authenticity.
The location was near a subway and the staff was helpful.

SloveniaRoom was nice but it was very cold inside, probably also because we were on the highest floor. Location of hotel by itself is good, very close to the metro station but on the street where the hotel is are very creepy people, all day and all night long.
Location is great, room is cozy and big enough, breakfast was very good, staff very kind and always ready to help. They also prepare a nice letter in the room to welcome you. Would recommend!

United KingdomThe hotel was located in an area of Paris that I would not recommend a tourist new to Paris to visit especially at night, lots of men hanging around the area and looking at me funny. I unfortunately departed my stay after one night as I just felt very on edge especially as the noise in my room was a loud buzzer that kept going off throughout the night and making me jump and wake up! Would just recommend getting the metro from Jules Joffrin instead of the nearest one which is Porte de Cligncourt, the hotel itself was lovely!
The hotel was a comfortable and nice space nice little touches and details, the little chocolates on the bed and note! The staff have been amazing when since I decided to check out and have handled it really well with me, which I really appreciate and it has been a learning curve for me as it's the first time travelling solo in a city.

United StatesI loved this hotel -- the staff, the building, my room, the bed, everything. It is a hôtel de charme (with an elevator and 24 hour reception). I arrived at midnight after a long train ride and was happy to see how close the hotel is to the Porte de Clignancourt metro stop (but not too close). This quartier of the 18th arrondissement has a wonderful mix of cultures which was fun to live in for this short stay. Special thanks to Yolande at the front desk.

AustraliaThe Hotel is situated down an alley way which is not a pleasant walk from the closest metro station (especially at night). The carpet in the room was dirty/stained and there is no rubbish bin in the room.
Had a window that opened allowing for fresh air. The bed was comfortable/fine.
