The area to store clothes was small and quite dark.

The room was superb, very comfortable and well equipped. The bathroom was roomy and the bath was wonderful. The garden and pool area were excellent to relax and the bar very welcoming. Breakfast was delicious, particularly the array of fruit.

The people who worked at the spa was great but it needs an uplift. Although I believe people don’t come here to use the spa.

Very friendly and helpful staff, who resolved a small problem we encountered quickly and efficiently and much to our satisfaction. Beautiful location in the heart of the city. Superb breakfast, including the best scrambled egg other than my mother's!

biking the canal de midi. this was a perfect stopover for the night. allowed us to tour the castle, see the old city, and enjoy a great meal at the hotel.

The service outside on the terrace on one day of our stay was rather slow, only one waiter was available for quite a few tables.

The hotel has a well deserved 5 star rating from the French authorities. Our room was spacious with a nice ensuite bathroom and it had a lovely view of the new town and the old town castle. The hotel reception area is large and has several sofas to sit on whilst you wait for the reception staff to check you in which is pleasant after a long journey. The public rooms are large and tastefully decorated and the pool area looked nice although we did not use it. The pretty garden is adjacent to the town walls and it is an oasis of tranquility with lovely views of the castle. The food in the hotel's Barbicane restaurant is excellent and we recommend the evening tasting menu with wine pairings, it was expensive but worth every penny. We commend the chefs and their team. All the staff were very helpful, the waiters put much effort into explaining the tasting menu in English to us for which we were very grateful. The valets spoke good English to us and managed our luggage well not only by promptly delivering our suitcases to our room on arrival but also they ensured that our cases were available at the hotel car park (outside the wall) when the taxi arrived for departure back to the airport. The Reception staff also happy to speak to us in English as well as French and they went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant and comfortable stay. Overall we had a lovely stay in this quaint and charming hotel.

environment, history, culture, all fantabulous. Wine list a bit short. Food ok but for 1 michelin could be more unique. We understand but the village is VERY touristic.

I wish our room was a little larger as we booked the family suite and it seemed small for this.

The staff was warm and friendly and very helpful. The location was fantastic, and the view from the garden was gorgeous.

Really can't think!

Our room had a beautiful view and easy access to the garden, so we didn't have to wander up and down to make our way out. The room it self was lovely, quiet and very comfortable. Loved the pool and breakfast.

Nothing. I wish it was a little cheaper but for a special occasion it is well worth the cost.

This has been on my list of places to stay for years and we got to stay here for our anniversary. The situation of the hotel is perfect. Part of the medieval city so perfect for exploring during the quietest parts of the day.

Later bar menu would be great addition. Air conditioning was dripping in family room and a little annoying but staff did jump to fix it once we let them know.
