Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandRoom size and bathroom size are barely large enough for one person . Breakfast is basic and expensive for what’s on offer, with no hot options and a self service coffee machine
In a very crowded lively and diverse area of Paris . Staff very friendly . Only a 10 minute walk from Gare du Nor .

CanadaThe air condition vent was directed straight at our faces, we could not change It. I ended up getting sick. There was no fridge in our room which was disappointing🙁The bread was not fresh at breakfast. It would have been nice to have more recommendations for restaurants and sites…….. We didn’t realize we had to book tickets for many of them and moulin rouge, so missed a few things.
The location was good. The staff were excellent. The room was clean but very small.

United StatesNot the nicest neighborhood, but maybe as expected near the train stations (15 minute walk from Gare du Nord), and we had no issues walking through it late at night. Very tight rooms, but we didn't spend much time in them. No views.
Terrific, English-speaking staff made it easy to confirm room configuration ahead of time, check-in, check-out, and leave luggage. Clean rooms well-stocked with what we needed and a nice lift.

United KingdomThey did not have blankets and I don't like quilts, but the hotel gave me 3 thick sheets which did the job nicely. Rooms that face the main road (like mine) meant that the noisy road might wake folk up, however I always wear earplugs so it only bothered me a little. Apparently the air con wasn't on the winter setting yet (I stayed in May) so was blowing out warm air still, I didn't experience it as I don't like air con so didn't try to use it.
I stayed at HB for my birthday weekend. I had very specific requirements (all of which I sent to the hotel well in advance). 2 of my requests were re my allergies to dust and that I am very Covid cautious. The HB team upgraded my room on arrival so I had a big balcony room with 2 large windows that I could open to let air flow through, and the room was 100% dust free and very clean. I know that as I didn't sneeze once the whole time I was in that room. The location is excellent and vibrant and very cultured then you have a nice walk in to Les Marais. I felt completely safe returning to the hotel late in the evening. There are lots of hair extension shops nearby and they'll try to get you to come in to get your hair and nails done - just say non merci, they're harmless!

GermanyWe requested twin beds and got a queen, which is fine, just not what we expected. The room was small, but that is expected for Paris. The cost was a bit high, but it was summer and well located and available so it was still a good pick.
My daughter and I went to Paris for a museum trip and this was within walking distance from the main train station, which was important since we arrived late at night by train. The employee was there to greet us and check us in at 11pm with no problem.

GermanyAlthough it is well located to move around in Paris, the surroundings seem a bit run down and slightly dodgy. I didn't feel safe walking around at night, but I didn't have any bad experience; this comment is based solely on my own perception.
The hotel is clean and well located in terms of commute. Staff was helpful and friendly. It is also more affordable than similar standard hotels in Paris.

LuxembourgThe room was SO small. So so small. I've traveled a lot and stayed in many a small space but this may be the smallest rooms I've ever stayed in. It wasn't quite advertised that way with the fish-eye camera lenses used to take pics of the rooms ;) Our shower didn't drain fast enough to let the water run more than ~4 minutes which is unfortunate as it took at least that long to get even warm water (so I ended up taking more than one cold shower). I would still recommend this place - but know that it's not luxury!
The staff was really friendly and helpful - I got extra pillows when asked and the breakfast crew bought me non-dairy milk upon request. The location was great, next to many restaurants and easy to get to different Metro lines. And the bed was comfortable and the wi-fi worked. I also loved that our dog was allowed - however - weirdly, not allowed in the breakfast 'room' (really just a large hall space) because some guests might now like it (but it's a dog friendly hotel... so).

DenmarkWe had the double room with a staircase and it could get a bit cold. But luckily there was an electric heater we could use once in a while. There could be better light and lamps as the room could get quite dark which also made the last step of the stares look like the floor. The last step on the stairs could maybe be painted in a different color or with a white frame. my mom unfortunately overlooked the last step and fell.
The staff is very kind, helpful and caring. The breakfast has everything you need and the rooms are nice and comfortable. It is my second stay and I would definitely come back if im in Paris again.

UkraineNo wardrobe to fit full-length clothes. If you carry maxi dresses, skirts, or coats - be ready that you will need to roll them up. No mini-fridge in the room. Soundproofing could also have been better, fortunately, we had very quiet neighbors.
Wonderful stay in the heart of Paris. Perfect location - just 30-min walking distance from all major tourist attractions. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, and the room was comfortable to accommodate 2 people. Additional thanks for breakfast - it was delicious.
