Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI had to move rooms half way through which was a little frustrating but it was well managed by the staff. The rooms are cleaned but not changed over full each day so be aware of this. Breakfast was not included but it was light and nice all the same.
Cute hotel in a quiet lovely town in Provence - Joucas. It was a simple yet clean and comfortable room. You can ask for a room with a view which is great. The pool was the highlight and the restaurant on site was great. It was nice to also have a wine or coffee at the cafe as part of the hotel. They have a gym if you want it onsite and parking.

FranceLovely hotel on the edge of a pretty village. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was good - amazing croissants! Pool with a beautiful view. Quiet village, very pretty with amazing views. Hotel has a restaurant but there is also a more general restaurant (pizza, pasta, burgers etc) just a few minutes walk into the village.

New ZealandMaybe complimentary breakfasts would be nice. A lot of places we have stayed in on our holiday supply this :) Some rectangle (and thinner) pillows would be great to have available for tall people so that their feet don't hang off the end of the bed :) Also for comfort in sitting up in bed.
A beautiful boutique hotel in a cute little village very handy to the best of the region.

United KingdomThe fridge could have been a little cooler, as the weather was very hot, and drinks needed to be cool to refresh.
We had a spacious room with a fridge, comfortable bed, air-conditioning, and a superb view from the window. The room was always clean, as was the attached washroom/toilet.

United StatesI guess I don't like to pay the pet fee, but I also understand the reason why it's necessary for certain guests.
I loved the large terrace in the front where you could have drinks, breakfast, lunch. The pool was nice overlooking the vineyards. Overall, it was a very relaxing place to be and we enjoyed our stay.

New Zealandthe rooms are a bit noisy- you can hear others in the hallway but things get quiet early here. we would’ve liked control of the air conditioning (it was locked) but we never asked anyone either so can’t really complain.
amazing stay in great location! we loved the pool and being close to all the other villages, the rooms are modern and clean. we didn’t eat at that restaurant but the cocktails were lovely here. I’ve seen reviews that staff don’t speak English but they definitely do- very easy to communicate with, nothing was an issue. this was the highlight of our France stay! highly recommend.

LuxembourgBeing located in a tiny village, there are no shops or stores around. One has to drive to the next nearest town/village to get groceries or other stuff. But this did not bother us too much since we stayed only for 3 nights.
We had a wonderful time during our short stay. The property is very conveniently located, close to the towns of Gordes, Roussillon, Menerbes etc. while being at a good distance to avoid the crowd of tourists at these places. Our primary goal of visiting Provence were to see the lavender fields and we were not disappointed. The property is close to many of the lavender fields, as well as the Lavender Museum at Luberon. The property itself is a cosy retreat run by a closely knit team of family and friends. Everybody was friendly, and we had nice conversations. The restaurant attached offers excellent food (although a bit towards the expensive side). We would definitely like to go back there given the chance.

SpainThis hotel seemed well suited to French travelers but inadequate for international guests because absolutely no one on staff spoke either Spanish or English. The staff seemed uninterested in us or unable or unwilling to try to communicate. We were four guests for one week but (with the exception of one of our group who spoke some French) no one attempted to help us or talk to us. There was one woman, maybe the manager who spoke a bit to our French speaking companion, and There was a young man who tended bar in the evenings who tried to communicate and we used sign language and laughed, but that was it. He was the only one who actually seemed to like having us there. The man at the reception was either shy or just didn’t like us. He was the guy who the guests called and who had to come to the self-serve breakfast room when the coffee machine ran dry or the croissants were all gone. There were confusing things like if they were serving bar food or just had the formal restaurant in service. We usually came tired and just wanted something small like a sandwich and a beer at the bar terrace. Some nights they would let us order a sandwich but another night, no, because they said the restaurant was full and they couldn’t make sandwiches for the bar terrace. In short, we never felt quite like we belonged there. I suspect that if you are French you have much better customer service.
I loved it that I was allowed to have my dog there. I loved it they the hotel also has a sweet dog. The room was spacious and clean. The air conditioning and internet worked well. The location was excellent. The breakfast was good but self serve. I liked the free parking also. Nice open air garden and beautiful views.
