Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel was undergoing renovation so the whole lobby area was very restricted and only a side door could be used. We were not warned of this at any time. The sitting area of the room had no light at all and was dingy. That was silly. The bedroom area had no air conditioning outlet. That was silly, too. It was odd having no electric socket at all for a shaver, hairdryer, toothbrush or anything else in the bathroom. The breakfast room was MUCH too small to accommodate anything like a full hotel. Queuing ages for a coffee machine (two out of three were broken some of the time) was a downer. A big national exhibition was being held in the (eyesore) exhibition centre recently built bang opposite that cut all links to and from the closest bus stop and there were no signs or help in accessing the hotel from that side - involving a walk of over a mile instead of 50 yards if you went the wrong way around. Somebody should have thought of that. We are used to being encouraged in hotels to re-use the towels, but we were also encouraged to have the sheets changed only every 3 days and even that they didn't do until we asked on Day 4. But now they are encouraging you to dispense with chambermaid service altogether! All to 'save the environment'. (My foot!) In my personal view, perhaps this is not the best way to run a 4-star international hotel.
The room was a double size one that was really spacious and loads of storage space The King Size bed was essential for us and most welcome. Although we like a firm mattress, ours would be loved by anybody wanting a really soft mattress. The staff were all absolutely delightful, obliging and helpful. Makes SUCH a difference. The executive lounge was really nice The location of the hotel is terrific and the city's transport system of mainly trams is incredible. Strasbourg is a great place for a visit. Forget the European Parliament, Strasbourg is the perfect and charming gateway to the breathtaking Alsace region, all easily explored from there - with frequent trains that do 125 mph.

RomaniaThe hotel was in renovation, lobby was partly blocked by the renovation works, entrance was through a side door. The A/C didn't seem to work on the corridors, it was kind of hot. The A/C in the room was good.

Germanybreakfast options were a little limited. the hotel is not directly in the city center but we had a car so was no problem for us.
room was very clean and there was an extra bed for my child in the room when we arrived, although we did not request it. Staff are friendly and we received a 50% discount on parking because we booked through Booking.com.

GermanyBreakfast is huge disappointment, at 9:30 everything was empty, nobody cares about cleaning breakfast room, it was horrible, we asked for refund and we had to eat somewhere else. Generally this hotel is great but have some serious issues with staff, in restaurant you have to wait to be served because waiters talk to each other and doesn't pay attention on you. Room thermostat, no idea beside on and off function how to adjust temperature.
Location is great, rooms are clean and comfortable. Food from restaurant was delicious, instead eating outside it's worth spending some time here too. Reception was really helpful and polite every time we needed something.

IsraelThe room size is great with a lovely big bathroom ,including bath and toiletries. There is a minibar in the room and a water cooler on each floor. A carafe and water glasses are provided in the room for this purpose. The beds were very comfortable and large. There is a parking area on site that is pay per day.
