Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceI loved everything. It was simply amazing and FAR exceeded expectations - from the warm welcome with the spontaneous offer of a much needed beer after my journey, via the impeccable room and delicious home cooking (including the opportunity to sample my very first non industrial crumpet ;-). The value for money has to be experienced to be believed.

FranceNothing at all.
Our communications and welcome were 100 % Our rooms were spacious and well equipped. All catering was truly off the scale exceptional. Way beyond what we hoped for. Would strongly advise taking the evening meal option. Home cooking at its very best, with attentive service, in a wonderful ambience. Breakfast can consist of home made breads , eggs from the hens, and a wide choice of specialities, all freshly made, The owner sends you an App from which you choose what you would like, from a varied list. We cant wait to return to Haras de la Tour, we felt truly welcomed and pampered. Its sets the standard for which others should aspire to. Even in February, we had a delightful stay.

Exceptionally charming, great 5-star breakfast, and Liz is the most caring, considerate and professional host that I've met. I guess this corner of paradise must exceed the expectation of most of the guests.

AustraliaOne bed was comfortable but the second was slightly lumpy. Shower water sprays onto the floor which seems to be a common problem in France…but nothing to really worry about.
A lovely grand renovated farm house in the countryside. We stayed in a twin room with ensuite. The highlight was the homemade breakfast in a stately dining room with a delicious array of home baked breads, freshly laid eggs and other treats.

United KingdomThe hosts had a slight problem with the heating which was a temporary situation, but we were provided with all the necessary for a cosy environment, including a log fire. It was one of the coldest nights of the year, but we were warm and very comfortable.
The location is slightly out of way, which was to our liking, and very quiet. The accommodation in a farmyard type setting was lovely. Everything thought through, and our host Carole was delightful, nothing was too much trouble. Everything was very comfortable, and it is a lovely property. As a bonus, the night time view of the stars was outstanding. Dinner and breakfast were great, so very happy with our stay.

SpainNothing, everything was perfect.
We arrived and were offered a glass of rosé wine and a tour of the marvellous hens and quails kept for their eggs and who lived in beautifully made pens. We'd booked dinner and were not disappointed with the delicious slow cooked duck and a vegetable quiche for the vegetarian among us, followed by sticky ginger pudding with cream - exceptional. Breakfast was just a good with a lot of choice which included lovely brown shelled eggs and home made bread, cheese and fruit. The rooms were charming with large shuttered windows (we had the Tower room), comfortable beds and spotlessly clean, well-quipped bathrooms.

United StatesIt can be a bit tricky to find Ancien Haras de la Tour (“Haras”), especially at night, but your effort will be richly rewarded. We arrived in the latter part of a month-long trip to the Bordeaux/Aquitaine area in a predictable state of dishevelment. Carol immediately offered the use of their washer and a drying rack to deal with the mass of clothes in our bags in need of a proper washing, a very welcome offer. Our suite was exceptionally spacious and tastefully decorated, impressively so for an 11th? century building, with what my husband called the “Ferrari of showers,” the most satisfying shower during our trip. The sister-owners are native English speakers, but Carol has lived in France for 40+ years, and Elizabeth cooks every bit as well as any French cook. The meals, including breakfast (don’t miss the madeleines, chouquettes, Chantilly cream, mini frittatas) not only were uniformly delicious, they also were “right sized.” My husband and I are in our mid-to-upper 60s and find it difficult, though tempting, to eat the rich, multi-course meals often on offer in France, but we dislike wasting food, much less sumptuously-prepared food. Overeating, with the attendant difficulty sleeping, is problematic, especially when one is trying to recover from jet lag or travel fatigue, so the dinners served at Haras are perfect, fresh-ingredient food in generous portions that left us both sated but not in “food comas.” In our particularly-comfortable bed in this quiet rural setting we had some of the best sleep of our long trip and in our rooms found every amenity. Carol even brought a pitcher of milk to accompany the coffee we made and drank while sampling the dark chocolates we found in a bowl on the mantel. The in-room WiFi at Haras is excellent. The sisters’ energy and industry in trying new things, the latest being building coops to raise quail (for quail eggs) while still attending to every detail and need of their guests, made our stay at Haras truly memorable.
