Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandI think we got unlucky with our room. It was inward facing , with no natural light coming into the room. You would need to turn the lights on for light which isn’t a nice environment in the morning or during the day. The window of the room faced the reception so when we had the curtains open we could see the receptionist and people checking in. We felt like we had very little privacy. This was a pity. There was sliding door to the bathroom which didn’t close fully and left a gap which added more to our feeling of exposure. I think we would have given a higher rating had we got a different room. There is also no indication in the booking that you would receive this room.
The staff were lovely. The location is biggest positive. The hotel itself is charming. The bed was very comfortable. The air con was perfect. Bathroom very modern.

United StatesThe air conditioner barely worked. Fortunately, it wasn't too hot during our visit. Be aware that there is no elevator so if you have mobility problems that could be a problem.
The location of Hotel des Arts is perfect for exploring Toulouse. The room size was adequate . The room was clean and had an updated bathroom with walkin shower. The staff was welcoming and helpful.

FranceThé décor could do with a little sprucing up in places but our actual room was very good.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, giving us great recommendations for what to do and also always chatty and smiling. The location was good and close to cafes, shops and also a wonderful donut shop!!

United KingdomAlthough very clean and well cared for during our stay, the room and hotel itself was looking a little tired. I do think the aftermath of Covid and businesses struggling to catch up lingers. It’s not a chic place maybe, but it was certainly friendly. Few issues with shower, but immediately attended to with concern. I would certainly feel safe there if travelling as a female alone. It was in a wonderful location and Toulouse has much to offer. I’d stay there again
The staff were amazing. They made the stay a delight. They enjoyed our attempts at French, found us excellent places to eat, suggested a day trip to their hometown which was outstanding and explained how easy navigating the transport system was. Never less than engaged and kind. Little home made breakfasts were a treat.

FranceThe sliding door to the bathroom did not close against the wall and the shower did not fit on the wall, you had to hold it. Small things, other than that nothing to complain about!
The location was perfect, not too far from the station and right in the centre of the city. The room was lovely, the bed was comfortable and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful..

United KingdomThought the breakfast was a little more expensive than we had paid at other Hotels but it was good and brought to our room so it's not a complaint.
Good location in the centre of Toulouse and we could walk from the railway station. Nice clean rooms and friendly staff on arrival. We were late but got there before 22.00. Yoann even apologized for his English which was good. Its us English that should be apologizing because our French is terrible. Would stay again if we are ever back that way

United KingdomAll good
The star was the exceptionally helpful man at reception who showed me to my room and gave very thorough recommendations as to places to eat. The hotel is in a small street perfectly situated a few minutes walk from the Place du Capitole, but the old building does mean that the rooms are not as spacious as they might be. A good continental breakfast is served in your room.
