Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDisappointed that the restaurant was closed on Sunday evening
The location is in a timeless part of France close to the 16th century church, and within easy reach of the center of Honfleur

GermanyNo complaints
The quiet surroundings away from the packed (tourists) town of Honfleur was enjoyable. Outdoor/dining seating and good walks away from traffic were good. Family atmosphere in Hotel/restaurant. Pet friendly.

United KingdomFor me the bed was a little uncomfortable and only one rather flat pillow each
The property was a delightful old place with extensive grounds and excellent breakfast, unfortunately we could not sample the restaurant due to staff shortages The room we booked was not suitable with difficulties getting in to the bathroom and no overhead shower We ask for an upgrade and they kindly move our luggage and gave us a room with a walk in shower for a little extra cost

United KingdomRooms a bit dated in decor, just a bath with a handheld shower in the bathroom.
Pretty surroundings with lovely gardens and driveway with horses in the fields. Staff were friendly and humoured our awful french. Able to walk into Honfleur down the hill past the lovely old church in around 20mins (steep hill on the way home!) Quiet and nice to be out of the town. Good continental breakfast buffet. Dog friendly.

United KingdomThe shower is over the bath with no wall holder so you have to hold the shower to wash and no curtain so we covered the floor in water. The rooms were very bright, the curtains let in so much light that as soon as the sun came up we were wide awake, some shutters would have been ideal.
The room was very clean and comfortable.

United KingdomDon’t bother with the standard bedroom’s. The one we had was tired and needed completely refurbishing. The loo basin was cracked and the sink had chips out of it. No tea/ coffee making facilities.
The food was delicious, one of the best restaurants we’ve ever been to. Staff were friendly and helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble. Cleanliness is to a high standard.

United KingdomIf you want or need a walk-in shower make sure you ask for one in case you get a bath. The stairs to the bedrooms were quite steep and not really suitable if you have mobility issues. Breakfast could be improved. There isn't any air-con. Bear in mind this is a 2 star hotel. And a very good one too.
Lovely location. Great restaurant. Clean. Plenty of secure parking. Helpful management. Taxi to the town available.

Czech Republicin the room under the roof It was like in sauna, unbreathable. the rooms are small and despite the accommodation looks romantic in the photos, it is not comfortable. luckily, they at least bought us a ventilator based on our request. the dog must not be left alone in the room, which was strictly told us, the dog must go everywhere with us.

RomaniaOur room was very small, which made it feel quite cramped. The bed was also small and the mattress was uncomfortable, leading to a few restless nights. The walls were very thin, and we could hear conversations and noises from the adjacent rooms and hallway. This was a significant downside, as it disturbed our sleep. The hotel is quite far from the city center, which means you need a car to reach the property and to get around. While the rural setting is peaceful, the distance from Honfleur can be inconvenient if you want to explore the town frequently.
My partner and I recently stayed at a small hotel just outside Honfleur, Normandy. Our experience was a mix of positives and some notable drawbacks. The hotel boasts a lovely garden where guests can unwind. It provided a peaceful and relaxing environment. The continental breakfast served each morning was delightful. The selection included fresh pastries, fruit, cheese and coffee, which was a great way to start our day. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Free parking on site.

United KingdomThey are in the process of refurbishing and unfortunately our room was one of the ones not yet done. So the shower was over the bath with no screen or shower curtain. Consequently it was very difficult to have a shower without the water going over the floor of the bathroom. When we booked we thought the hotel was closer to the town than it was.
Breakfast was ok There is always the problem in French hotels that they don’t really know about making tea to an English persons satisfaction. The water from the machine was never hot enough ie boiling. And the tea bags despite being labelled English breakfast were not strong enough.
