Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaFor many the fact that it has no lift could be a problem. The young gentleman offered to carry our cases up for us. Unless that sort of thing is a real problem don’t dismiss the positives of this hotel.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was renovated to a high standard and very well set out so that the space was practical. The bathroom had a super shower. The breakfast which for us was included was so yummy with great choices. It is in easy walking distance of the many areas to explore in Tours. We slept with the window open because we were on the second floor but it was acceptable noise level.

FranceNo lift so you have to carry your luggage up several flights of stairs. This would be an issue for somebody older or unable to use a staircase.
The staff were lovely. The room was cute, especially the bathroom.

New ZealandThe staff were always friendly and helpful. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The location was perfect, being close to the old town, river and railway station. As we didn't have a car, it suited us perfectly.

United StatesThe staff was super nice but they didn't speak any english which made the communication harder (specially to understand the parking rules). I know that I am in France and I was supposed to speak French and I apologize for that. My point was that it would help me get tips around the city if we could communicate better. Regardless, I would definitely stay there again.
It's very modern, nice and comfy! Could park my car easily in front of the hotel but had to deal with 2hrs limit (it's free from 6pm to 8am). The bedroom has a really good space, super quiet and pretty.

United KingdomThe soap dispenser at our bathroom sink hadn’t been checked and was empty and the hospitality tray in the room was haphazardly stocked.
Stylish decor, good sized rooms, spotlessly clean, good bed, excellent shower, great breakfast - and beautifully located for shopping and nightlife.

SwitzerlandPerfect for a city break, this hotel is close to streets that are full of life and some of best rated restaurants in town. It’s walking distance from the cathedral and the Loire. If you have bikes, as we did, you are able to store them in the hotel‘s locked garage.

IrelandWeird opening hours, so when i got there, i phoned and rang the bell but no answer for 15 mins and it was middle of check in time, around 4.30pm. Walls in between rooms were thin so you could hear other guests.

United KingdomI liked everything.
The location of the Ferdinand Hotel is perfect. It is close to the main shopping area as well as being a 5 minute stroll to Place Plumereau where one can find an amazing array of bars and restaurants. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble. This is a very well run hotel and I would hope to return next year again.

EstoniaI did know there was no elevator and no air conditioning, but it was nevertheless heavy to carry luggage to the third floor, I'd have expected some help at least then. And windows could not be left open because of the prime location of the hotel - there were loud groups of people on the street just below all the time, going home after their night out. So it was hot on the attic floor.
Very good location, very helpful reception.
