Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandYou have to clean the room and empty the bin yourself. It's not really a big deal but make sure you do it to avoid cleaning fees. Also be aware the train stops going to Les Praz after a certain time. There is a bus but their night time fair is triple the day fare.
This review is going to be severely biased. Upon arrival to the hotel we did get upgraded. The upgrade was incredible. The staff was kind and she explained our upgrade to us but she was too humble about it. We were elated when we saw the room. We had booked the loft room, which I believe is just a double bed and bathroom. We were given what was basically a one bedroom apartment. This room was so big, so impressive, so clean and generally so pleasant. We were so upset we were only staying for one night. The room had a balcony with a view of the mountains. There was a full kitchen with a fridge. There is a full dining table and couch in the kitchen as well. It would be an ideal room for a family. Obviously we found this super affordable for what we got as well. Chamonix is also so beautiful so that's a massive bonus. At night the receptionist was making a cake for the next morning, we didn't have time for breakfast but from that experience alone I'm sure it's amazing. There's also a hang out/ board game room which was fully stocked and looked great.

United KingdomNothing I loved every minute!
Amazingly beautiful property, looking out onto the mountain range in Chamonix! It’s literally a minutes walk to the train station or a 40 minute walk along a pleasant river to enter main town Chamonix. The hotel also upgraded us for free which was amazing! And the breakfast was completely worth it, it felt like a home away from home:)

United KingdomThere is nothing really to dislike, apart from no lift, which is quite difficult for me as i have a disability, but even then it was my own fault that i didnt look into my booking and realised it was not compatible with my needs... but it was only one night, and we managed ... the place was over 100 years old and very quaint, so it would take up to much room
It's such a beautiful setting, and the Eden hotel is full of charm and then the surprise are the rooms that are very tastefully refurbished and very crisp and new

LithuaniaOrdered a standart double room, got upgraded to an apartment with bath and full kitchen. After hiking TMB in rain we could not ask for more. Thank you. It was clean and comfortable. Location is 2km walk from central Chamonix or you can catch a train just next to the hotel, which is free with Chamonix guest card.

CanadaA very comfortable, clean and quaint hotel away from the hustle and bustle of Chamonix though within walking distance. They offer a good breakfast and for the evening, a nice lounge in which to relax.

United StatesThe stuffiness of the room (had to leave a window open most the time), the alarm from the train going off every 30 mins starting at 7am.
Beds were super comfy, everything was updated, hot water on demand was amazing!

FranceThe room was brilliant but the end of the bed was too close to a mezzanine staircase. Both of us stubbed our toes on it. Ouch! But unless a smaller bed is put there, I can see no way around the problem The bed is kingsize so a Queensize bed would work fine. On the whole the staff were very helpful and friendly but one of the younger members of staff was rather offhand.
Lovely decor. Very well situated close to train and bus stops. The breakfast was the best we've ever had in a hotel. The room was fantastic - we were upgraded. Tea making facilities in the room - always very welcome. Comfortable bed. Great bath.

United KingdomBecause there were only double doors and no other windows ventilation was a problem at night.
Beautifully situated in a quiet area 2km away from very busy Chamonix. Very comfortable bed, nice separate bedroom. Well equipped modern kitchen area. The terrace outside the double doors was great.

United StatesThere is no elevator. Our room was on the third floor and the stairs are very steep. We made it work, but it may be prohibitive for some.
The Eden Hotel is special. The common areas are beautiful and the staff is very friendly. They have space for both inside and outside dining as well as an outside pool table and ping pong table. There’s even a small sandbox for the kids. Our room had a balcony with a view of Mont Blanc. The view doesn’t get any better! If we come to Chamonix again, we will definitely stay at the Eden Hotel.

United KingdomNo clear guidance on parking given when we arrived late in the night to the property. In the morning we were disturbed by a hostile guest at the hotel about parking. This was a bad experience. There is no lift in the property but its not a big deal if you do not have big luggage to handle.
Great view of the Alps & spacious rooms. Excellent location.
