Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyIn 2024, the restaurant of the hotel was no longer the restaurant of 2002. While not exactly bad, there was no comparison to the excellence of the restaurant several years ago. This is not fatal, but guests should not expect a fine dining experience today.
We stayed here once in 2002 and once in 2024, twenty-two years apart (!) And so we had the chance to compare it in its two versions. The location is unique: the river literally runs right through the grounds of the hotel. Wonderful. In 2002, the hotel was a small three-star hotel with a pool and very nice restaurant (which turned out to be the best restaurant in the area). In 2024 we found that the hotel had been greatly expanded on the ground, with new buildings housing 4-star rooms. We were very happy with our room this time around, which was large and clearly meant for guests who were staying for several days to do sporting activities, etc. Free parking available on the grounds, much appreciated.

United StatesWe enjoyed our stay, and the area in Provence is beautiful. A convenient location, just a five minute drive into town. The family room was large and spacious and comfortable. We just had a problem with our AC, but they did try to fix it. The only inconvenience is you cannot order food from the restaurant, you must book a table in advance. The breakfast is nice, with a decent buffet. The river next to the property with ducks swimming by is beautiful. The staff were very accommodating and lovely except for some of the restaurant staff. The pool was nice with lots of lounge chairs, just a bit small, but it was a great way to cool off at the end of the day.

Staff were sensational. Great communications. Provided options for our bike storage. Nothing was too difficult. Lovely pool. Very clean and modern rooms given the age of the building.

United KingdomRoom safe was broken on arrival - never mended. Distance from town as a bit far to walk in evenings. Evening menu repetitive and limited. Very limited info about hotel facilities in both room and reception e.g timings of meals, market days in town etc.
Superb setting. Nice pool - a little small when hotel full. Very secure parking.

United KingdomSlightly tacky design style. It’s a bit fussy to say so, but part of the experience is how things look.
Garden with the river flowing through, unusual and peaceful. A very satisfactory restaurant, not exceptional cooking, but good. Nice staff. Spacious parking.

New ZealandI was disappointed with the view. I booked rooms with either a balcony or patio, and a view of either the river or garden. Our ground floor room had a patio with a view of the driveway and another building. We only stayed one night, so not really an issue.
Very clean and comfortable spacious rooms. It was great to park in behind secure gates. Very nice breakfast (18 Euro buffet) Location was great, approximately 1.7km from the town.

United KingdomWe had dinner at the hotel once and although it was very tasty and well cooked, the choice of menu was very limited. Additionally, there were language barriers with some staff which impacted us one occasion in a choice of kayak excursion - we were not fully informed of the details.
We really loved staying here at the end of our honeymoon. We had a fabulous room on the ground floor and felt wrapped up in nature, surrounded by trees and vegetation. The peaceful location of the hotel near the river was beautiful and we were able to fully relax in the quietness. Very helpful staff and messaging ahead of our stay always helpful.Loads to do in the vicinity and just down the road from the centre of town.

BelgiumSlightly worn out and dark room in the old building (but staff was very efficient in sorting out move to room in one of the new buildings as from day 2, subject to a moderate upgrade fee).
Contemporary, comfortable and airy room in one of the new buildings, quality of breakfast & dinner, lovely garden & swimming pools with quiet places to relax or read, friendliness and service of staff.

ItalyThe bathroom and the room itself were a bit small, surprisingly for a 4-star hotel.
The breakfast was good, with a rich buffet (well maintained) and with the possibility to enjoy it outside near the river. Two swimming pools available for all the Customers. We tryed to book the restaurant without positive results.
