We needed peace and quiet, as a start to the holiday. And the place completely met our expectations. Lovely garden and a fine swimming pool. The breakfast was really good, it was homemade with care. We hope we can visit Rebecca and Didier once again.

Nothing, although you'll need a car to get to the nearby cities of Albi and Gaillac!

The setting, the pool, the food and the staff (Didier and Rebecca) were all wonderful. The 3 bed apartment was also huge, spacious and well-equipped.

The bar/kitchen service was a little limited (only opens/starts at 3pm), which was a bit of a shame on the days we wanted to relax by the pool or have lunch poolside. But the place is family run, and doesn't have lots of staff, which is part of it's charm, so it didn't really matter! It is definitely more of a place to enjoy just being in, and then eat out (in the many wonderful medieval towns close by), or self cater buying delicious local produce from near by markets (some of which can be provided by Rebecca & Didier).

Rebecca and Didier have created a beautiful place to stay. The setting is so tranquil, and the house impressive and rich in history, without being pretentious. Sympathetically renovated, you can't help but immediately feel relaxed on arrival. We were in one of the apartments which were fabulous- very spacious, comfy beds and luxurious bathrooms. The pool is lovely, and the various seating areas and hideaways in and outside the house mean you can enjoy the place whatever your mood. The Geese add bags of personality and enjoyment to the experience!

Everything was lovely! My only suggestion would be to install mosquito nets in the windows so that it’s possible to leave windows open overnight without bugs flying in.

Super unique property and very beautifully decorated. Big rooms and bathrooms with great decor and lovely views onto the lake. The communal areas (such as the drawing room and patio) are all well thought through and provide a great space to relax indoors when it’s raining. It’s a real treat for interior design lovers. There is also an album you can look through with old photos of the property which documents all the changes and renovations that have been made to it - very cool! Didier, Rebecca and the rest of the staff are all very friendly and incredibly helpful, it’s clear they are passionate about providing a great service. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the property and all meals were fantastic - fresh, local ingredients and home cooked food. The duck stew is a particular highlight.

A small fridge in the room would be useful. The service at breakfast was inattentive - with staff not visible or prepared for guests arrival.

It was a short trip, I would definitely recommend to stay a bit longer to enjoy the place and the area more. We went to Albi, we found it really touristic and stressful

I would highly recommend the Domaine de La Monestarié! The hotel is beautiful, Dider and Rebecca have done an amazing job in creating spaces which protect and highlight the history of the incredible building and adding contemporary elements and furnishings in places to make it feel modern and luxurious. The rooms were very well appointed and quiet, perfect for a restful break. All the staff were very attentive and welcoming. The breakfast (in particular) but all the food and wine from the mini market was delicious and great value for money. Overall it was fantastic!

Very nice building and surrounding garden with birds/ducks etc. Relaxed atmosphere with luxury feel to it. Enjoyed refreshing pool. Friendly owner and staff. Did not use the breakfast, in self catering apartment.
