Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenThere wasn’t anything I disliked per se. The standard of the room was fine, a bit worn as expected at that price.
The location of this hotel is really nice. Very close to Montparnasse station and perched on top of two busy restaurants that give you a feeling of being in the heart of Paris also when stuck in your room. The staff is very friendly.

NetherlandsIt's an older building, so some of the carpeting is pretty worn down. The facilities seem to be older as well. The room was quite small, even for Paris standards I would think.
Awesome location, in the middle of an area where there are lots of eateries, pubs, and cafe's. Still felt pretty central and easy to get around on the metro. The staff was also super nice, friendly, and accommodating. They made us feel at home. Also very pet-friendly which is a big deal for us.

United StatesI didn’t notice anything that wasn’t to my liking. Maybe, just this: I’d prefer to take a bath, and there wasn’t a tub.
The location was great. I arrived late in the evening and was pleasantly surprised how close to the airport it was. The breakfast was delicious. It included everything I liked. The coffee was excellent, too.

GreeceThere was nothing that we did not like.
The location of Hotel de la tour was the key element! It was close to Montparnasse, Edgar Quinet and Vavin metro stations. The room was clean and the breakfast was perfect (2 baguettes, 2 croissants, honey, marmalades etc., coffee and orange juice) and it was served into the room at the time of your preference. The personnel was kind and helpful! ☺️ Thanks a lot for all!

United KingdomThe cleanliness in the bathroom was not perfect. The shower head had black mould and I had to clean before I used it. I also wiped non obvious surfaces which were also below expectations. That said, once I cleaned the bathroom, the rest of the accomodation was perfect.
Staff were nice, room was basic and as described. Bedding was fresh and service was good. The location was ideal for what we wanted to do while there.

United StatesWhether you consider these aspects to be negative will depend on your outlook, budget and the weather forecast! First, my single room was TINY, and although very clean and functional, I can not honestly say that it was comfortable. At first I was afraid that the street noise would be an issue, but I soon came to consider it a charming part of the ambiance. There are several restaurants in front of the hotel, but as such the noise (from diners) will die out by midnight or so. Closing the windows does eliminate most of the sound, however this may not be an option for everyone as the room has no A/C. The breakfast is brought to the room and you need to schedule the time - which is a negative for me as I hate planning - but as I said it was delicious.
First, I loved the location. Around the corner from the Gare du Montparnasse, but a world apart on the tree-lined Bd. Edgar Quinet. The lively neighborhood is chock-a-block with restaurants of all types. There is also a large Monoprix market a few steps from the door, and it's a short walk to multiple metro lines. The hotel is very clean and well-maintained, and all of the hotel staff that I met were friendly and welcoming. My single room featured almost floor-to-ceiling windows that opened onto the street. The WiFi in my room was outstanding. I also appreciated a small table in the room that made a better computer desk than many of the high-end business hotels I have stayed in recently. The continental breakfast - croissant, baguette, butter, jam, juice, yogurt and coffee was absolutely delicious. The hotel also has an elevator. The pizza at Pinocchio (just in front of the hotel) is excellent.
