You are paying for the location and view. The room itself very small, no extras - no kettle, no bottles of water, no hairdryer. The wc/shower the smallest we have ever seen. The balcony - umbrella stand but no umbrella, basic patio furniture.

The room was small and cramped Typical French staff, some were stuffy Directions to drive there were confusing. The is a sign saying ⛔ but it was wrong and that was the road to the hotel

Restaurant closed, despite taking booking months before. Room tiny, no coffee making facility. Reception staff rather abrupt, mid serving me on both arrival and departure took phone call which abruptly ended our interaction without apology or acknowledgement. The setting is amazing but it's a tiny, tired hotel that does not offer great customer service or value for money compared to other offerings experienced during trip when chambre d'hotes used.

The room was small, but neat and clean, the bed comfortable. As so frequently in France, there was no wardrobe, but instead a hanger rack. The bathroom was very good. The manageress was extremely helpful in finding additional accommodation nearby for our daughter, who joined us unexpectedly together with our large dog! As a secondary issue: the hotel restaurant prices are very high, nevertheless our opinion was that the quality of the food in our case made that OK.

The room we had was on the top floor at the rear of the hotel, there was a noisy fan exhausting near our room window which overlooked the dustbins, at about 4.30 in the morning were emptied followed by a stream of delivery trucks for the restaurant next door which carried on long enough that I could not get back to sleep. I booked this room 6 months in advance I fail to see how I ended up with what I think was the worst room in the house. It’s sad that with all the planning in the world you can still end up having a rubbish stay.

Confusing road access - major road works leading to the hotel which we were not warned about (ignore the “no access, road closed” barriers!). Offhand treatment in the restaurant - don’t try asking for a vegetarian option! Basic (but comfortable) old-fashioned room.

The younger staff were charming , perhaps the older members could benefit from their example of friendliness. Excellent young male waiter who was language skilled and extremely competent. Our room was rather small and overlooked kitchen yard. Sadly the door to our room had a faulty lock. It inconvenienced us when we wanted to rest before dinner as it was being mended. A further consequence was the chambermaid did not make up the room. Not a word of apology or acknowledgment, which felt very neglectful. There are various notices around, including on the menu, of an unpleasant sort. It’s as if they predict poor behaviour from their guests (“if options are not all available do not be rude to our staff”) and want to chastise them in advance. Poor customer relations. Check your bill on departure, breakfast was automatically added to ours but we never took it, promptly amended.

The position of the hotel is lovely, balanced at the end of a peninsula with views all round. There is a formal restaurant in the hotel, where the food was good. Next door is a more casual one, so for a two night stay you can enjoy a change. V small car park at the front, but apparently round the back there is more space. One way system up there as narrow roads. Popular spot, so be prepared for crowds milling around rather.

This is not a destination for the infirm and since there is no lift, climbing the stairs is the only way to move around. While the windows offer magnificent views they are rather small although given that the location is fully exposed to westerly gales off the Atlantic, larger windows might have drawbacks on winter/windy days.

Surely one of the most stunning locations in the whole of the Baie de Saint Michel with unrivalled views east and west. We were lucky to witness the most stunning sunsets from our bedroom window. This is an establishment that has been run by the same family since the 1930s. The restaurant serves delicious meals along with magnificent views across the Baie towards the Mont St Michel. This is a destination for oyster lovers and these were to die for!

Road works on approach, we he’d no warning. no tea/ coffee making facilities in room. No water in room. Receptionist was surly and ignored us for a good five minutes when we arrived. No internet on the last day.

The best place to stay at the Pointe du Grouin. The view was fantastic and lots of places to stroll nearby with breaktaking views of the cliffs.
