Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe 10 minute unloading area was full when we arrived (with a parked car, not just unloading themselves), so we made it work by parking down the street between poles.
Beautifully, tastefully done hotel that feels like the quaint rustic yet luxurious, well-kept stone house you imagine for a perfect stay in Provence. Our room was set off from the main multi-story hotel, behind the breakfast room in its own back garden area. It felt exquisitely private and quiet, like our very own guest house. The garden with the tables was so lovely for a drink on a sunny spring afternoon. All the common rooms with all the charming bookshelves of charming books on Provence made it so inviting to just curl up somewhere and learn about the region. The location is good, set off from the bustle of busy Avignon, 5 min drive or 35 min walk, and feels relaxed and sophisticated roaming around outside the hotel. We caught the Saturday brocante market with great fresh seafood, a few mins walk from the hotel. Staff was very hospitable and kind. Tea and pastries available all day was an appreciated addition to our stay.

United KingdomI cannot fault anything in the hotel, the only thing we could say is we wish the hotel had informed us that many restaurants are shut on Mondays. If we had known we could have pre booked a restaurant. We asked a staff member for a recommendation on the day and they recommended Maison Bronzini, which looked lovely from the outside, however as not much was open it was already fully booked. Had we have known in advance there wasn’t many options on Mondays, we would have booked in advance.
Perfect hotel to explore Avignon, whilst it is out of the centre, it is in a close village nearby, which is much less touristy but still full of lots of choices of restaurants. It is easy to walk into Avignon and we also got a little ferry boat across near the famous bridge, which the staff of the hotel recommended. It was a great way to enter the city. The hotel was very pretty and peaceful the courtyard was lovely to have breakfast in. The roof terrace was really nice and made the hotel feel even more spacious. The room was snug but very comfortable and we had our own terrace overlooking the garden, it was really sweet. We also really loved the completely water/tea/coffee that was available, it was perfect for coming in after a hot day and a really lovely personal touch.

United KingdomI can't think of anything
This is a lovely hotel - we hadn't realised, when we booked that it was slightly outside the city of Avignon, but were really pleased in the end as Villeneuve-lès-Avignon is beautiful and transport in and out of Avignon by bus is very quick and straightforward. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a real sense of relaxation and calm, including soft sofas to relax on when we came back from dinner and tea, coffee and biscuits available for guests, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was a huge and generous spread and could be eaten in a delightful courtyard garden or inside the cosy breakfast room. Lots of little nooks and terraces to sit on and the place had a real charm, I can see why it is popular.

AustraliaThis place is even better in person! Usually with this older period properties, they can look a little run-down in person but this place was fresh and bright! Good sized room, recently painted and with modern shower - a big plus in a place like this! Free pastries and drinks all day is a nice touch too. Beautiful gardens and little village in general. Near Avignon centre can actually be really stressful, especially with a car, so for us the area was an oasis full of locals

SpainThe building is old, which in general is very appreciated, but there are small details that probably should be renovated already.
Small, nice hotel in a small village next to Avignon with nice staff. They are engaged to make you feel comfortable. There is a small garden in the backyard where you can rest, really lovely.
