Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandEven if it is included in the price of breakfast, no juice was available. Also, too hot in the room without possibility to turn air-conditioning.
Location is great and easy to reach from the airport

United StatesFood is still excellent downstairs, but they did not have their usual smile on in the dining area. Maybe it was seven days of clouds. The noise from some work being done next door was a distraction one morning, but I just got up earlier the next day. Everything in the room is tight. If you lean over, make sure you don’t hit your head on a projectile.
The location is absolutely phenomenal. Just on the edge of the 6th but in the 5th. The real bonus is the best crepes in Paris are located just across the street at Au P’Tit Grec. I’ve been going there for over 30 years. It’s very easy to get to everything from this location. And, the RER B line is just two short blocks away.

DenmarkIf anything, the bed size was a bit short - It wouldn’t work for tall people.
Beautifully renovated hotel at a fantastic location, 2mn from Pantheon. Real contemporary concept, trendy and nice. Staff is incredibly nice and helpful. Prices reasonable.

IrelandThis was a very nice surprise. The room was quite typical for Paris, small and cosy. The room, bathroom, the bed and sheets were very very clean. One of the few hotels where I didn't find hairs in the bathroom. I booked a single room with a single bed, so it was a little bit small, but that's my fault. I will book a double bed next time. The location is just perfect, close to the RER B for the CDG Airport.

AustraliaI'm not great with lifts and this one was a bit slow, small, and bouncy. But I'm being picky. There is a cool staircase to use and not too many floors. So it's manageable.
Amazing location near Jardin de Luxemburg, safe neighbourhood, and close to the metro. Great for a solo traveller. Walking distance to Notre Dame. Great room with a record player, books, and so personal. Clean and good facilities. Cool music den downstairs and all the decor was amazing. Cafe downstairs with great coffee and pastries. Loved it. Highly recommend.

United StatesThe room felt a little cramped, even for one person. Also I didn't pre-book breakfast, so I can't speak to the value of that, but a cafe latte, croissant (which was stale), and orange juice (fresh squeezed) in the cafe was 16 euro; you will get a far better and cheaper experience at any one of the patisseries nearby.
Great location in the Latin Quarter, a short walk from the RER B / Luxembourg Gardens. Clean, quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was great. Good value for the money and location.

United KingdomThe room was quite small, especially for twin beds. Small rooms are expected in Paris, but there were much larger double rooms. It would be good if sometimes these larger rooms could be used for twin beds (friends sharing rather than a couple).
The location was excellent, the hotel was stylish and the room was comfortable and well-designed. There was a lovely coffee shop which served excellent coffee and a tasty breakfast. The staff were all friendly and very helpful.

United KingdomWell, the rooms are fairly minimal in style and fixtures. You get hanging space but no drawers. But there was really nothing I’d moan about! I was comfortable.
The location is perfect. Particularly if you like cinemas, bookshops and universities. Nice staff, great lamination on the breakfast croissant, pleasant change from more impersonal hotels. I was happy here. And you get to say your hotel is called French Theory which is kind of hilarious (it’s just a few minutes walk from the famous philosophy bookshop J. Vrin and of course the Sorbonne)!
