Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe have no complaints about the hotel.
The location of the hotel was perfect! 10 min walk to the Eiffel Tower and so many cafes and little shops all along the street. The room and facilities were very clean and the bed was so comfortable! The Cler is such a quaint and cozy hotel. The staff was exceptional and we will definitely be coming back!

United StatesA water refill station would have been useful, but otherwise, no complaints.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Paris. The staff was kind, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was hot. The location is great, only a 15 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. We enjoyed our stay so much that we came back to the Cler Hotel after our trip to Normandy.

NetherlandsNo iron board in the room allowed. Had to do this in the basement :-(.
The Rue Cler is a super nice street. All kinds of fantastic food stores. Rooms were very sound proof, mainly sound to be heard from the street. Great base to explore Paris. Authentic feeling area. Some good parking options nearby. We used Parking St. Dominique. A hotel that I will be using in the future again, when visiting Paris.

TaiwanI was hoping the breakfast could have been a little bit more varied here and there. I mean, don't get me wrong, for me the breakfast was definitely "reminiscent" of home but I was hoping for possibly a few more different options throughout the time we stayed. I did enjoy the breakfast though; I mean it! It is definitely a good breakfast and I hope next time we are around in Paris and stay at the Cler Hotel, the breakfast can be even better.
Where do I begin? I mean, when you visit Paris the week before the Opening Ceremony for the Paris Olympics 2024, there are so many things that go into play. I researched and researched on places to stay and as you all know in this day and age, there is a plethora of bombardments of posts related to "The Best Hotels to Stay at in Paris" or "Do Not Stay in The 7th Arrondissement of Paris!" I could go on and on, and everyone's travel "needs" and desires are unique and what may be the "best" for one might be the "worse" for another. So with all that said, I absolutely loved the Cler Hotel. Yes, the location may not be the most "ideal" for some, but for me it was perfect! I mean, it was during the Olympics that we stayed so of course my review may not be a clear, 100% indication of what this area is like during "regular" non-Olympics times but the Cler Hotel definitely went above and beyond to make sure my stay was the best it could be. The rooms, albeit a little "small" but hey, you are on vacation, right! And for me, I do not need a huge living space like home when traveling so as long as I have the bare essentials of comfortable bed, hot shower, and a little extra like the comfort of A/C, then I'm set! And this is what the Cler Hotel had. After returning each night after exploring the city, I got an amazing nice rest and felt rejuvenated the next morning because of the comfortable beds, nice showers, and the coolness of the room from the A/C. The location for me was perfect! I loved that "traditional" Paris-street feel that the Cler Hotel was on with restaurants galore, supermarkets abundant, fruit stands here and there, bread shops and a post office too! And of course souveniir shops! So all in all, the Cler Hotel worked perfect for me.

United StatesI can't think of a thing that I didn't like! My overall experience was very good!
The location was excellent and in close proximity to the facilities that I needed such as a post office, general store, laundromat, bank ATM and the metro train for transportation. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and always available to me. My room was exceptionally clean and on a daily basis! The view from my window was everything that I imagined. Finding a place to eat wasn't a matter of where, but what I wanted to eat! I had many choices daily. I especially enjoyed the daily fresh fruit that was available right outside my hotel door. Yes, I could live here!

United StatesWe really couldn't ask for anything more.
The location was great. Nice street with cafes and close to the Eiffel Tower and river. The room was a great value. It was a bit on the small side but we were expecting that. Having a fridge was helpful. Plenty of outlets. The employees were super friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We arrived early and were leaving for home in the evening and they were super helpful and allowed for us to store our luggage so that we could go out and explore the city before/after our stay.

AustraliaCouldn't fault anything. Thank you Cler Hotel!
The cleanest and most beautiful hotel I've ever had the pleasure to stay at! Staff were lovely and so helpful. Location was amazing - the street outside was lined with restaurants, flower and fruit shops - exactly how I imagined what Paris would be. We chose the location because it was a short walk to the Eiffel Tower and actually, it was good for every location we went to.
