Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe room was a little ‘tired’ and needed some refurbishment. Nothing too extreme, though.
Full of character. Excellent staff, always very helpful. Good breakfast. Super swimming pool and terrace.

United KingdomThe mini bar/ fridge didn’t work, and staff advised it was just a storage box for the welcome (warm) bottle of water - not good enough for a 4* hotel. With that exception, a first class lovely and unique hotel stay

United KingdomThe entrance to our room had wardrobes and WC which was great, but there was a fire door leading to the bedroom. It was really difficult to close it quietly or without it squeaking. Not really a problem if you don't get up in the middle of the night :)
Lovely central hotel with parking. Our room was in the newer part of the hotel, which had lots of space with a balcony overlooking a courtyard. The bed was comfy and there was plenty of space in the lounge area to relax.

HungaryWe needed the help of strangers of Avignon to find the parking lot of the hotel as we were not told this location beforehand or provided any information on how it can be accessed. The new hotel rooms do not really fit the vibe of the otherwise beautiful place and they also have a weird configuration.
The location of the hotel at this price range is almost unbeatable when it comes to hotels in the city. Dog friendly hotel.

AustraliaInitial rooms given 114 & 115 have no lift access and you must drag your bags up a tight spiral stairway. Ok if you are young and fit but not when you are 70. Staff were kind enough to change the room on the second night with good corridor access.
Location was awesome

GermanyThe new section of the hotel is horrible! The design unaesthetic and not thought out. The rooms are hard to find and people with luggage have to carry it up stairs. I felt like being in a futuristic setting. See pictures. If you book to stay at the Hotel make sure to ask for accommodation in the old part.
The lady t the reception was extremely accommodating when we complained about the rooms in the new part of the hotel. She gave us superb rooms without surcharge.

United KingdomThere was a strong aroma of drains when we arrived. The problem, we discovered, was nothing to do with the hotel but with the ancient city itself after particularly wet weather. Bar area lacked atmosphere but probably related to the season.
Historic property. Stunningly beautiful courtyard/cloyster. Great location. Well maintained. Very clean and tidy throughout. Exceptional staff. Could not have been more helpful.

FranceYou will need to remember that as a medieval city Avignon has some very old drainage systems, which when rain and wind combine mean that the city draining can leave some unpleasant smells......
The Hotel was an immediate space of calm and relaxation. The beautiful surroundings were so rich with history and enchantment. Once we dropped our bags we were immediately taken to another place away from the noise and distractions outside.
