Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandReception hours were short and even shorter on the weekend. There was a coffee maker and electric jug but you had to provide your own products. The bathroom needed a good cleaning.
English was spoken at the reception. This is a quiet place behind some other buildings on a little one way street. Parking, which was more spacious than in some other places, was under the building. The light stayed on while unpacking the car and the lift went down to the car park level. Air conditioning was welcome. Bed was comfortable. When we came to leave, the street was blocked by a large truck collecting the hotel linen so we drove the wrong way to the main road. It was a short distance and there was no other traffic.

United StatesAnother experience where the Booking.com system supposedly hadn't communicated with hotel and had a worrying arrival when they couldn't find our booking. Well handled by reception staff.
Good location with secure underground parking. Easy access to tram and buses to centre if you don't want to walk. Very comfy bed. Would go back if visiting Orléans again.

SwitzerlandThe bathroom was quite small and a bit outdated.
The hotel is in a quiet location and you can even walk into town from there. But there is also a bus stop nearby. The breakfast was very good and the staff was always friendly. The beds were also comfortable and the size of the room was okay.

SpainRoom 129. The kitchenette needs an extra space for working on. Seemed too empty. A small noise from aircon even if you turn off.
The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning could be regulated. The parking, you need to check in and they give you remote control, easy access. The staff was nice. The TV went well. Dog could stay.

NetherlandsWe liked having the small kitchenette and fridge. The tram stop at the back of the hotel was an unexpected bonus - 10 minutes into the centre of Orleans. €3.60 to ride in and €1.80 for the return.

FranceThe first room had twins knowing that I have requested for a double bed. Twins were moving all the time. they were very small and the second night I fell down when I wanted to be in the middle. Beds moved and I fell down. Fortunately they gave me a room with a double bed for the last night. I could sleep better even though I had a back pain. Staff was nice. I had asked for gluten free meals but they did not have that. I did not take breakfast there. The opening hours in booking and the message I received were inaccurate as it was for the first apartment I had booked. Information in booking was totally inaccurate.
The location was good, very closed to the city center. The tramway and the transportation was really very very closed. The staff was nice.

JapanI arrived after the reception closing time, so I called them and made an advanced payment to get the room key when I arrived. The staff told me on the phone that he would inform me how to get the key by text, but there was no text. When I arrived, another stayee had the same problem. I was tired of the long drive and struggled to get in. I'm disappointed with the staff service. As the reception is close at 6 pm, I don't have a way to ask for a wifi password. I couldn't connect with wifi without password...

Location. You are not in the center (stress) but you have the train literally at your door. In 10 minutes you are are the center.

NetherlandsThere were road works in front of the hotel, which also made it a bit difficult to find + they'd start working on that very early in the morning. It's nothing the hotel can change, but they can try to inform the people who will stay over beforehand, direction wise.
The room was excellent, everything you'd need for your stay. Nothing missing, very clean and a great location. The employees were very polite!
