Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWhen we got back to the room after eating in the restaurant, there seemed to be a problem with the heating system. The noise was terrible, my husband went to reception, we were offered another room in the chateau but the noise was even worse. We were then offered a room but on another part of the estate, but as it was 10.30 pm by this time, it was impractical to move. In the morning, the caretaker fixed the problem within minutes. Would've been nice if he'd been called to fix it earlier. Instead, we had a sleepless night. We were shattered and had a long drive ahead. The lady on reception said nothing to us when we complained, not even an apology, despite being aware of the night we'd had. She knocked €30 off the bill, which, considering the amount we'd spent for one night, was a meagre gesture. Would not return. Not a very good attitude to have with your guests.
Lovely setting, nice food but very small portions. Some pleasant staff. Chateau was impressive from the outside, but tired inside could do with updating

United KingdomAs we were staying for an extended period, the cupboard in our room was very small to accommodate our clothes. At times, the service was very slow and sometimes our requests were forgotten and we have to remind staff. There was one member of staff who was particularly abrupt. The changing rooms for the pool area need a lot of attention and does the area where the table tennis was (water pouring through the roof space was damaging the table).
We stayed for 9 nights and got to know the hotel well. The room we had was a good size and had an external balcony which was nice to sit out on in the sun. The room was clean and provided the key necessities. The hotel had a nice lounge area and the different elevations in the hotel made it very attractive with different areas at different levels. There were good facilities (tennis, very nice pool area, table tennis, snooker). We had a few meals in the hotel and couldn’t fault both breakfast and evening meals. There are extensive grounds to walk around.

United KingdomOn this occasion we stayed in the new wing with two small rooms which had poor air circulation. The rooms were very hot with no air-conditioning, and no fans were provided.
This is our second stay as we loved the hotel grounds, pool and restaurant. The hotel also has lots of parking and is dog friendly.

United KingdomThere isn't a minibar to cool drinks or a kettle to make tea or coffee in the room. However, the room we had in the original part of the chateau was fantastic.
A charming chateau is set in lovely grounds with a woodland area, which is good for walking our dogs. The swimming pool was fantastic and the restaurant was good too. We stayed two nights and will be staying another two on our way back. I tried to extend for a third night since we liked the place. However, they were unfortunately fully booked.

United KingdomIt's absolutely fine if you like being in the middle of nowhere & have a car. Some rooms were been decorated during our stay. I personally wouldn't stay in a chateau again. No tea & coffee facilities in room. Business functions & Wedding functions during our stay. There are fewer guests staying in the hotel during September so that impacts on the overall ambience.
Pool. We ate in the Restaurant for one night only as it was the same menu each night. The food quality was very good on the set menu. We received a free upgrade on our original room because it had been recently painted and still had a strong smell in the room. The receptionist was very kind to offer us a suite with a balcony at no extra charge. Used location as a base to visit places in the area.

United KingdomWe booked the largest, most expensive room they had, as we wanted to really wind down, from a long journey. When we arrived we were told our room was not available, but we could have a much smaller room for the same price as we had paid. ( the room would have been £40 less, if we had booked it!!). We refused, and she found us a better room, but still charged us full price. We chose not to have breakfast here, but they put it on our bill anyway, which we challenged, and they removed it. We were called about the room, but had missed the call as were travelling through the Pyrenees.
We ate at the restaurant on site, and it was fantastic. Pool was beautiful, as were the surrounding areas. Very quiet and peaceful.

United KingdomHotel Photos Versus REAL PHOTOS! To all prospective customers considering this hotel, I trust you will find this review informative. As evident from the photos, there exists a substantial contrast between what the hotel advertises on this platform and other websites and what you will actually experience upon booking. Upon voicing our concerns to the Manager, we were presented with alternative options. Two of these rooms had recently been painted, emitting a strong paint odour. The third option closely resembled the photos I have uploaded. The rooms exhibit a significant lack of modernity and appear noticeably worn. In my opinion, they are not commensurate with the price being charged. It is undeniable that the photos provided by the hotel do not accurately depict reality. When we requested a price concession, the response was simply, “We’ve offered you alternatives!” I trust this review aids you in your quest for accommodation in the area.

United KingdomWe had a lovely comfortable room in the chateau with a balcony and lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Dinner in the hotel was truly excellent. Breakfast was taken out on the terrace. Very friendly welcome and extremely pleasant staff. The chateau is truly shabby-chic, but has a lovely atmosphere and is extremely comfortable.

FranceWas disappointed with the stay in general except the food and service in the restaurant. Found the room in need of a refreshment in decor. It had no charm at all. Could have been a room in any 1 star hotel. Would not visit again.
The food and service in the restaurant was the only star in the visit. Had a nice Birthday meal. Would not recommend to friends and family

The hotel has a huge garden and in a very quiet location. The hotels policy to accept dogs very appreciated, and we got a big room in a separate building just as we asked for. We stayed in this holel before, so we knew what to expect, and all expectations fulfilled.
