Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBeautiful location and a stunning property. Really lovely personal welcome when we arrived and lovely and attentive service from the staff. We only stayed one night so didn't use all the facilities, but did use the pool, which has a lovely setting amongst the vines, and had an excellent dinner in the restaurant. Food was delicious and breakfast also excellent. Would highly recommend.

AustraliaAs Rodez is very small town, there is no Ubers and very few taxi’s (I would hire a car and drive if I could do it over - a 15min taxi ride was €25). Luckily the venue helped me with a taxi after checkout. There is no room service available and the restaurant was fully booked my first night so the only food available was food from the bar (charcuterie, cheese and focaccia) which was my only option as I had no way getting into town as an option for dinner (bring snacks).
Stunning property, amazing sunsets, very peaceful and everything was sooo beautiful. Such an amazing place to get away to in the countryside. The restaurant is a must as well. Very small menu but everything was delicious. The treehouse was such a unique experience and a lot of fun. Staff were extremely helpful as well.

We loved the chateau itself and the decor. The pool and vineyard were amazing. The restaurant was exceptional for the price point.

United StatesThis property is stunningly beautiful and the family room was fantastic for our family of four. PLUS - my inlaws joined us and had the room opposite the games room so we had the entire floor to ourselves which was fantastic. We loved the pool and were hopefully not too disturbing to the other guests - kids just want to have fun! For dinner, while we didn't get into the restaurant at the Chateau, the staff got us a reservation in Les Sources - at La Cascade - a fantastic restaurant just 10 min away in a tiny village with a waterfall - def good for families with picky eaters.

Japannot particularly.
All the member of staff were kind and friendly. As we were not so hungry at dinner time, we just ordered only main dishes. Actually they were so tasty. The room style was basic but very classical for us to enjoy atmosphere of French country side.

IrelandWe forgot to book restaurant in advance but they made us up a nice cheese platter. Maybe remind people one more time to book in advance.
We loved this place and it’s magnificent grounds and furniture and art. They were so nice and responsive on booking messages including changing for us last minute as half our party missed their flight and only half the family could travel.

New ZealandBooked a spa treatment and the spa pool was cold… Was really disappointing as I was looking forward to this relaxing time for so long. Also the restaurant is closed Sunday and Monday when we stayed and was completely booked out on the other nights, so we couldn’t eat dinner at the property. And unfortunately the villages around had very bleak dinner options. If you’re travelling here book dinner we’ll in advance and maybe avoid Sunday and Monday nights.
Excellent stay - our room was absolutely stunning, the whole property is exceptional, breakfast was perfect and with a great view with lovely staff, lots of room to explore the property, the pool was beautiful…

NetherlandsAll great.
This was our favourite stay after a week of roadtripping through south of France. Very well renovated castle, all feels very authentic both inside as well as in the surrounding area. Swimming pool in the vineyard is the dream! Also really good food in the restaurant, we did a set menu of 5 course with wine pairing and it was excellent!

AustraliaTwo fans in our suite instead of one. Given that we arrived in an unusually long heatwave means this oversight is understandable and probably could have been organised if anticipated. So not really a criticism, just a note.
Just gorgeous. We’ll appointed, classy, friendly service, thoughtful decor, romantic and luxurious in feel without being pretentious. Highly recommend.
